Summary

My name is Leah, and I am a Cazador. Trained to hunt and kill vampires over 300 years ago, my training became essential once I became one of those monsters.

The underbelly of the supernatural world has begun to bleed into the human world, and journalist Rachel Sambrook is asking too many dangerous questions. Unwittingly, she's revealed a conspiracy I had hoped would never become a reality: using vampire blood for human experiments.

As I attempt to contain her, she's by my side, and the truth of just how deep the darkness goes is exposed. Unfortunately, the consequences have also brought forth the creatures that hide around every corner, thirsty for flesh.

The only question remaining is which one of us will survive the inevitable bloodbath?

Amazing

I absolutely love this book. Kristina Hvam and Nicole Poole are my two favorite narrators so when I saw this book I immediately bought it without reading the description. I was so happy Book 2 is already out, but I need book 3 ASAP! If you’re looking for a great book, great story, great narration, and 3 badass females that are sorely lacking in this genre then this series is for you!

Meh...

My least favorite book of Shannon Mayer. The scene with Cain was a bit much for my liking. The relationship with Calvin was not well developed. Overall felt very chopy.
Shannon, Nicole and Kristen Hvam are my top audible team.

A fabulous read!

Well what in the banana hammock?! (Face plans) Just when I think Shannon and Denise couldn’t confuse the crap out of me.... I was wrong. Haha. But it’s a totally good thing. I love them separately but together, sweet cheese and crackers.

This story almost gave me a heart attack, or three! And a bucket of laughs. Lea and Rachel are not your normal kind of friends. They’re tossed together by accident. They’re both in this for a long, hard fight.

Vampires are on the prowl. Vampires are dying. And the baddest vampire in the world is on a mission to stop it all. Rachel, a reporter used to being in the thick of thieves and danger, is on a mission to find out why people are dying in her city. The next thing she knows...she’s in the thick of it.

They’re running out of time to stop the madness from spreading.

liked it

Fun story, great narration, first book in series.
Because of two main characters, story seems less intense, than usually Shannon Mayer's)

Hooked on Shannon Mayer

While I enjoyed the story the performance was not up to the same level as all other Shannon Mayer novels. D. G. Swank part of the story was not as passionate as Mayer and the performance sounded a bit automated.
