Summary
A wicked snowstorm had blown in from the north and the roads were a mess. Recently split from his one-time girlfriend, there was now nothing holding Cameron Decker here in the little backwater mountain town of Larksburg Stand. Time to get back to college, back to Stanford. Seeing a guy knee-deep in slush at the side of the road, he pulled to the curb and waved him over. The guy smacked his head getting in - knocked his watch cap askew. Only then did Cameron notice - noticed that the individual couldn't possibly be human.
Cameron decided to help his stranded passenger - a decision he'd soon come to regret. Along with his rust-bucket of a pickup truck, he was soon heading deep into space aboard an interstellar spacecraft. After the vessel crash-landed onto an alien world, he would now have to contend with a murderous droid and a slew of strange alien life forms. But it is the 45-foot tall killer beast - a Minal Loth - that will impact is life the most. Marooned, Cameron must keep his wits to survive long enough to find a way to return home - back to that little mountain town, and that girl, who he should never have left in the first place.

Exceptional book .. as always
I most generally will not use one of my credits for any book less than 10+ hours long.
The only exception is any of Mark Wayne McGinnis's books. I have all the scrapyard series of books,so using one of my credits on this book was a no brainer.
There's something about his writing style that I really like. This book, joyfully, was no exception.
A great book by a great author.
The only complaint I have with any of his books is length. All of his books run at about 8.5 hours.
Which to me is a little to short. I always finish them in one sitting. So if your reading these reviews Mr Mcginnis please ad about 3 or 4 hours of additional story telling please, your books are done way to soon. I know you can do it without being repetitive.
Can't wait for a sequel.

Stupid, moron, inept, bullshit
This character is toted as a highly intelligent person over and over again. Yet again and again, he makes stupid, conviluted, and rediculas decisions. I just kept getting angrier and angrier. He didn't ask normal follow up questions. He didn't do obvious things until after the fact. The entirety of his problems are of his own making. It's far too frustrating watching him fubble his way through all that bullshit.
Let's run threw until I gave up.
So, after picking up a hitchhiker, a nice thing to do, he learns guy is an alien. Talking, then spouting very personal life details later, he decides to help him. Sure I can get behind a rational decision after getting some promises of peaceful intentions. However, it Kinda gets out of hand from there. After a run in with a very abusive town Sheriff (surprised the asshole hasn't been sued by now) he figures out where the ship is goes for no real reason.
After getting stuck on ship alone with dude, exposition tells us that AI guy called X1(or something similar, honestly I barley cared.) can't feel emotions or empathy. No AI can. Then that's immediately proven false when the AI or the ship itself seems to care about him.
He's then stuck on a ship for a while a decides randomly wondering around and pissing is the best use of his time. There a lot of waisted time, obvious things he should have tried, or natural follow up question just skipped or relagated to a, ask him later, mental list.
Boom bang boom, a crash land later he has all the leverage in the world. Both AIs say its impossible to repair the ship without him. Instead of applying that leverage his ball seem to fall off and roll away because he doesn't even try. He is then threatened by death to retreave the infant tentacle monster he threw out the airlock when X1 was out of commission for awhile. Instead of the ship AI, who named herself Alice and has a fetish for terminator style flesh robots, decided to direct him as to where to throw it off without warning him not to. X1 holds the life of the MC hostage over Alice who cares about him for no reason, so she won't help him on a statistical suicide mission. The one where he is killed by X1 for not going. Ya know, the threat that would strand them on that planet forever because they need him to repair the ship.
Makes litterally no fucking sence. I hopping off when he started playing African Safari with his beat up truck. Seriously, don't both with this garbage book. It barely has continuity from one chapter to the next.

A great little happy space opera - worth a credit
Enjoyed this one. Sometimes a bit predictable- but not in an annoying way - and the basic premise is a nice twist on the normal approach. Have fun.

Oh, Gag Me
To be clear - Just gag me. Granted, it is not an overly terrible story. Just one that makes you wonder why it was written. Important parts of the story just happen so quickly that I had to back the story up to see if I missed something. It seems that the author wrote himself into a corner and instead of finding a sensible way out decided to just ignore or create a quick short cut out of it. Ugh.

Ok that was fun! light easy fun.
This book was a fun fast easy storie and i liked it alot.
Fresh and fast like the bob's. but not as smart.
Look out for a plot hole or two and turn the "Suspension of Disbelief" dial up.
sit back and enjoy a fun story.
recommended to all.

So much fun...
I really enjoyed this book. It's short. But, no wasted words make for a longer feel to it. I can't wait to share it with others.
