Had to give up
I was really looking forward to listioning to this book and at first it did seem like it was going to be good, but it just got so boring and tedious, I found myself drifting away with my own thoughts instead of listioning to the story, I always like books narrated by Steven Brand even though some people get annoyed that he never uses accents for different characters, I can deal with that but this book he just sounds like a robot, just one dull tone, the predictable hero is superman, too pure and good never does one thing wrong even when tempted by a beautiful girl half his age,he has high morals and never puts a foot out of line, so boring....Yawn yawn, so not gritty enough for me too flowery and predictable

Tedious
So many times where I just sit here and think, Well no shit the traitor is not honorable, and why are you talking to him just kill them already. The default seems to be "My master wants to talk to you... No you don't want to come, Kill them" and if its not that there is a lot of conversations happening during combat. I mean a lot of conversations, like I believe that the Flash would be hard pressed to slow down time enough to understand the sheer volume of what is said during combat.

Good but tedious
This is an interesting story with a fast paced plot, but it is quite redundant over and over again as the author repeats the same story from the perspective of each of the main characters. I find myself thinking, “I know this already, move the f*** on!” Because the story is compelling, I will be listening to the next book.
Hope this helps.

More story, less repetition, less gore.
I realize some readers like battle scenes better than anything else. I don't, but still I would have enjoyed the listen more had there been more emphasis on story. The amount of repetition is staggering. Although there is repetition ofvthe simply annying type--the same noticeable word used repeatly in a few lines--that speaks only to either a poor edit, or an author choosing not to follow an editor's recommendations. More disturbing, facts of story, history, and details of character thinking were told over and over and over again with almost no variation, running up word count and narration hours to no other noticeable purpose. All my opinion only, of course. All that said, a story that could have been fascinating was okay. The delivery by the narrator was also only okay, but probably just what the story called for.

Incredibly full and interesting.
I enjoyed it immensely over the SJW new age trash that litters the genre. Fantastic job. I am willing to read all that you write.

Nice middle school read.
Young adult novel at best. Plot had more holes than the main character and concubine storyline. Sorry, spoiled the whole book.

Not a dissapointment
Great story line. Only issue is that it sounds like this was part of a previous series. I would have liked to have followed the prior series first but that's my only real complaint.

repetitive & slow
thus was one of the most repetitive & slow moving stories I have ever read. the author seems to have cut & paste descriptions of each character, and they are reused so frequently that I wanted to pull my hair out. but even worse, when I hit the halfway point, and the story had hardly progressed, I was done. I will avoid this author in the future.
