Great book under $8

Savage Urges is my fifth book in the Phoenix Pack series and I really enjoyed the book. Author Suzanne Wright had quite the great series going on here. Her writing style just draws me in and her characters are just so top notch. She definitely has a something worth listening too here.

Oh my gosh, I just loved Makenna and Ryan. She’s strong, fiercely loyal, and just perfect for Ryan. Ryan, oh my. How can someone be so sexy while being broody! They both have some serious hurt in their pasts but instead of destroying them, it just makes them so much stronger. Mixing them together, her sassy quirkiness and his my face may break if I show emotions, had my alternating between laughing and sighing. As good as the sex is between them, and it was REALLY good, it was their more personal moments that got my heart all aflutter. It’s not all smooth sailing for them. He’s convince she’s his mate and she doesn’t want to get hurt again, another pack tries to take over the shelter Makenna works out, missing relatives, lost loners, and so much more. Throw it all together it makes for a very hard to put down entertaining listen that ends in the best HEA.

And now for a little PSA. I really need to commend the author on her representation of the lone shifters. Whether it was intended or not, loners were described similar to the way most people think homeless people are. Shifty, bad, evil, they are homeless/loners because they choose to be. Showing them as not all bad but more of victims of their circumstances whether it is abuse, abandonment or forced out. While this is not my first book containing loner shifters, it is the first where they are not some horrible destructive force. Thank you Ms. Wright!

Any PNR fan, especially for shifters, will enjoy listening to Savage Urges. I love both and I know I have. Just make sure, unless you plan to stay up all night, to not start listening to this book before bed. You may find yourself struggling to put it down. Yup, it’s that good. Can’t wait for the next book!

Love the Series

I've enjoyed all of the Phoenix Pack books. The series moves from one mated pair to the next in interesting storylines with great character interaction. I especially like the integrity each book highlights as loyalty, strength and honor are displayed in all the Phoenix Pack wolves and their families.

True Mates

I love this series and the way Wright finds perfect matches for each pack member. The fated true mate thing is a novel idea and we should all be so lucky but honestly not even fate has wright's sense of humor in pairing true mates.

Ryan of the serial killer stare and grunts meets quirky free-spirited Makenna and you think well this should be fun to watch play out. Ryan is stunningly sweet and protective and 100% ready to accept his mate quirks and all even though she makes him crazy. Not simply because she is fated mate but because she makes him feel anything. Makenna doesn't trust anything she can't feel and would never cheat Ryan out of the mate fate has waiting for him. For her it is simple no bond means she can't keep him. Ryan doesn't give a damn about fate he wants the one person in the world who make him want to smile and won't stop at anything until he wears her down.

Why are the true mates not because of the fated bond but because they fit together perfectly even when they shouldn't.

Still the steamy humor filled romp you are used to in this series but with a stunning sweetness and heart revealed in both leads.

Hot. Smart. Heart wrenching.

Suzanne Wright has an incredible talent for communicating emotions, tells highly character-driven stories, and seriously delivers the heat during intimate relations. To top all that off, her stories are interesting, imaginative, and riveting. Can't recommend her highly enough.

Jill Redfield's performance was perfection. She really got the characters and emotions across well. I definitely enjoyed listening.

Great Book

Suzanne Wright does a great job of creating a quality story. Jill Redfield does a wonderful job with the characters in the book. Loved how the story develops into a love story between Makenna and Ryan. Their relationship struggles through a family connection, suspense and a life/death situation. One of those books that is hard to put down.

Suzanne Wright Does it Again!

This is my 2nd listen through of this book! Jill Redfield is the perfect narrator for this series and the spin offs. Ryan and Makenna's story is one of my favorites! The whole are they or aren't they part of the story was well written. I was highly satisfied with the conclusion of the story.

I love Suzanne Wright’s Phoenix Pack series! It’s the best shifter series I’ve ever read and listened to !😍🥰Makenna and Ryan’s relationship survives the quirkiness and superstitions of Makenna and Ryan’s broody behavior and protectiveness. Jill Redfield’s narration is phenomenal!! Her performance brings all the feels to the story and she makes it so easy to distinguish each individual character in the storyline! I love it 😍🥰🤩😍❣️

Listened to 2 of the other books in this series and this one seems like it was written by someone else. It is one of the most boring books I've listened to in a long time. What a struggle to finish this book without falling asleep or tossing my iPod out of sheer frustration. Didn't care about either of the main characters.
