Summary
Cat shifter Bree Dwyer doesn't fear much. Ironically, what she fears most is the person who was put on the Earth just for her. Your true mate wasn't supposed to be cruel and twisted; wasn't supposed to be someone who'd never love or want to claim you. The rumors that her true mate is dead bring her only relief. Bree's intent on moving forward with her life and building a future with someone else. Sadly, the male she wants most is one she can never have - a hot-as-sin wolverine shifter who happens to be her boss...and the cousin of her predestined mate.
Aleksandr "Alex" Devereaux detests being bullshitted, but he's been lying to himself for years - pretending he thinks of Bree as extended family; that he doesn't want her so bad he aches with it; that he can't feel himself weakening against her pull. The night they spend together changes everything. He's done fighting himself on what he wants. Someone isn't happy about that. Possibly the same "someone" who's playing mind games with Bree, trying to scare her. They're succeeding, because too many leads point to the possibility that the culprit could be the one person that she's determined to believe is dead.

New narrator ruins my all time favourite series
Had already read the book, but bought it anyway just because I adore both mercury and Phoenix packaging wait to do it all over again with Olympus pride... I didn't even check the narrator when I bought the audio book....... Utter disappointment, this narrator ruined the book so robotic and fluffy and the usual sexy men in all previous books just sounded well... Meeeeeh. Gutted unless jill is back I won't be continuing with these books ....sad times

Mediocre
The story line was ok, as was the narration but I found myself not feeling very gripped. It’s worth a listen all the same.

Suzzan is still great!
A few miss pronounced words. I personally miss the old narrator Jill Redfield, but I can adjust to Samantha Cooke with time. The male voices are weak and sound the same, where Jill redfield tried to make a difference between them. But practice is all Samantha Cooke needs. I found a few of the character voices portrayed quite weakly/soft spoken despite their dialog and description depicted otherwise by Suzzane Wright. Suzzane Wright is still an excellent author and I look forward to more of her work being made audible. Her antagonists plot was a very good twist and I said out loud "ooooh plot twist!" to the amusement of others. Which I believe says it all about how it is a very good story 😁👌

Good book
Another fabulous start to a new series. Altho we’ve met some of these characters in previous series ie The Phoenix Pack and The Mercury Pack we have some exciting new ones to meet. This story was full of drama, suspense and intrigue. Wonderful narration too

Fairly predictable but easy listening
Start of a new shifter series for Suzanne but set in the same place as the Phoenix and Mercury series with some crossover of characters.
Its fine and follows the usual formula. Broody overprotective male, feisty female, sex and peril etc. Anyone familiar with the other shifter books will know what to expect and not be disappointed.
Nothing really new and no great surprises in this and I didn't find Alex particularly likeable so only 4 stars from me.
New Narrator in Samantha Cook - Id have preferred Jill Redfield but only because I am used to her narration of Suzannes shifter books, Samantha did a good job and didn't distract.
Well worth a listen if you like this type of book
