Summary

Number-one best seller

There’s a reason I never go to parties....

I saw him in a cloud of smoke, like sin made flesh. Even bruised and battered, I’d never seen anything more beautiful....

Unless I hate myself, I should stay far away from Nero.

He’s a heartbreaker.
A mess-maker.
A walking disaster.

Here’s the problem: I’m in deep trouble with a dirty cop. The only person who can save me is Nero. We’re not friends. If he saw me drowning, he’d throw me.

But he’s the only chance I’ve got.

He’s no hero, he’s a savage lover.

Savage Lover is the wild and reckless third act of the Brutal Birthright series. It’s a stand-alone bully mafia romance, complete with HEA and no cliff-hangers. It contains blazing-hot bedroom scenes for mature listeners only!

Messy love

I adore this series and this book does not disappoint! I love that the POV goes back and forth and Lee Daniels and Michael Gallagher are excellent in their portrayal of Camille and Nero. Nothing like a a-hole character that manages to redeem himself and the way these broken people get together warms my heart. ❤

The Bad Boy finally meets his match

Nero Gallo that second oldest of the Gallo family finally meets his match in Camille Riveria she loves cars and fixing them because she helps run her fathers’s garage they went to high school together but did not cross each other’s path a lot. Camille is dealing with a sick father and a young brother who is determined to ruin his life by selling drugs. She gets caught in between an ambitious cop and a drug dealer that does not care about anything but making a profit. Nero offers her an escape their relationship develops from a semi friendship into full blown love. Loved these characters and I love the Gallo family. This series has been amazing can not wait to listen to more of these stories.

This series is so good!!

I love this series, but this has to be me favorite book so far! Wow! I listened twice, because I felt like I missed some stuff (kids). Loved it more the second time. The narration and the dialogue were so amazing.

PHENOMENAL

I swear each book is better than the last. Nero and Camille seem to cross paths again after high school. he saves her from the cops for street racing. Their lives will be forever entwined. she grew up poor he grew up rich. As Nero tries to help his family so does Camille. as they both navigate around a cop out for revenge or blood, they must figure out a way out.
These characters are amazing. I was pulled in from the start.
Sophie Lark has out did it again. I can't wait for the next one.

omg, I found some new narrators. They were perfect as Nero and Camille.

My Thoughts on Savage Lover

Every time I read a new book in this series, I feel like this might be my new favorite couple. And then I remember how much I loved the last couple and I second guess myself. So I think it's just best to say that Sophie Lark writes great stories with couples you love, even when they're up to very bad things. And that Nero and Camille are no exception to that. Camille was very different to the leading ladies of the previous two books, but she was absolutely fantastic for Nero. I loved how they not only had all these great levels to them, but they also had quite a bit in common. The story itself was so well developed. They each had their own things going on. They weren't thrown together by force but kept being drawn to each other. And it had yet another ending that I loved.

The narration was great as well. Lee Daniels was a new to me narrator, but she did great. I would love to hear more from her in future. Michael Gallagher I've heard in one other story, but really liked him in this one. He's one of those I think the more I listen to him, the more he'll grow in me.

I'm so excited to see what Sophie Lark had next. Both with this series and anything else.

Love Nero and Camille's story!

I love the Brutal Birthright series with its interconnected characters. This one was just as good as the first two. Nero and Camille's story was action-packed and laced with danger and suspense along with being sexy and steamy. The storyline is captivating and intense. It kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I can't wait to listen to the next one in this series. Lee Daniels and Michael Gallagher both did an amazing job bringing this story to life.

"If he saw me drowning, he’d throw me an anchor."

I received this audiobook via an Audiobook Obsession Promo Code & this is my voluntary review.

This is book 3 in the Brutal Birthright series by Sophie Lark and her fantastic writing has given this story of Nero, middle son in the Gallo Italian Crime family Fast and Furious meets The Italian Job vibes. Unlike the last two books which felt darker and like a gritty dance as the factions vied for power play & control of the city, this one was about a bad boy meeting his match in the form of reluctant spy Camille, the sassy mechanic whose protective sibling instincts get her under the boot of dirty cop.

He takes advantage of the fact her younger brother turned to dealing drugs to rich kids because the family is poor to make a desperate sister turn Criminal Informant to have her infiltrate the Organized Crime Ring of drug dealers in Chicago so he can hook himself Shark in a career making bust, no matter how many smaller fish lose their lives in the process and Camille is painstakingly aware that although shes exactly that kind of small fry, she wont be getting out of that net without help. Nero is less than impressed when his mobster party acquaintances mean he keeps seeing her at some less than savory parties. The writing flowed so well and the narration from Lee Daniels as Camille really brought to life her desperation, she cannot afford to go to prison, her father is sick, shes the only one to work the shop and her mother ran out on them years ago. She cant risk going to jail and letting Vic down, life didnt turn out great for her after high school but she wants better for him. I found her selfless big sister instincts completely relatable and she would suffer anything for her family even enduring the sleazy Officer Schultz. What started as a shared passion for cars has Nero deciding he hates seeing Camille risking her life, but she didnt ask for his input, in fact she'd rather he left her alone. As the Chicago Cops & Crooks dance threatens to swallow her whole he decides to pull off an Ocean's 11 style heist & help her out at the same time. He was born an Italian mobster after all, outsmarting the Boys in Blue, no matter how soiled their uniform... is in his blood after all, then he can concentrate on bending her over the hood of the cars they both love so much.

Loved this book and while it can be enjoyed as a standalone, you really should enjoy it as a series... its worth it!
