Summary

He wasn’t the one I was supposed to marry.

He’s cold.

Brutal.

Calculating.

To his family, I’m a strategic move in their war. To mine, an alliance offers protection against our enemies.

Still, there’s something about him that calls to me. A dark edge threatens to revive me. His gaze steals my breath. Even if my heart thinks this could work, my brain knows better.

We say “I do” with his brother’s blood on our clothes and the bars of my gilded cage slam closed. Our wedding vows are forever - ’til death do us part. But with enemies closing in from all sides, death might be closer than we think.

Please note: This book contains dark content that some listeners may find distressing.

Get ready to fall in love 😍

I want a Luca !! I love his auntie Paloma soo much she just made me laugh and cry. Especially when she took care of Amelie...no spoilers why. She the mother hen of the family and she is showing Amelie what a family truely is. Which I love about this story what a loving family even in a mafia world and HOT fast love story.

Amelie is such a story heroine I loved her straight away and she was a wild child. She is a full match to Luca and she fights her feeling with every tooth and nail. But when she found out about their wedding vows...no spoilers but it cause a series of events & exposing feelings for one another 🔥

Luca is just Luca 😍🔥 He loves Amelie and he does show it in a good way and the wrong way. Especially what he did to protector her but he should have explained it to her and not lock her away...no spoilers but my heart broke when Luca went in that room...you can feel his regret and fear that he truely lost their love.

What I really love about Luca he shows his feeing with action NOT words. Which is what Amelie needed. They are made for each other you can feel it off the page and when they clash together its🔥💥❤

☆MUAT READ & FAV & Listen☆
Aiden & Gemma BRING IT ON🔥
So far I am loving both characters and I can not wait to learn more about them!
We still have murder mystery to solve...no spoilers

🎧 Audiobook
Narrated by Stephanie Rose and Jacob Morgan. Fantastic pick there voices bounce off each other nicely. Them intense scenes were amazing and my imagination even went more wild. The scen that broke my heart to listen to was when she was locked in her room...no spoilers on why and what happened in that room...

A Dark Mafia Romance!

This is the first book in the DeSantis Mafia Serie, a spin-off of the amazing Fallen Royals Series. Wow! I loved it! Amelie and Lucas's story is captivating! Amelie (Lucie's sister from Wild Fury) is strong, smart, and resilient. Lucas is dark, and enigmatic. The storyline is intricate, and enthralling, filled with suspense, and twists and turns. The characters are well developed, and intriguing. The supporting characters are great. This is a great dark mafia romance. Stephanie Rose, Jacob Morgan did a fantastic job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to Savage Prince, Aiden's story, the next book in the Series. Author S. Massery never disappoints!

He's Ruthless but is he a Saint?

Ruthless Saint, the first in a new Mafia Romance series ended up being a really good read.

Amelie (loved that name btw) never thought when she woke up on her wedding day, it would end in tragedy and she would be wed to another man.

Luca, being the great man he is, handles family business and steps in and marries the woman that should have been his brother’s wife.

The story is full of action, a heroine that really knows how to hold her own and a Hero that isn’t afraid to show he has feelings.

I truly enjoyed the audio of this book, what’s not love when Jacob Morgan is reading, and Stephanie Rose really brought Amelie to life for me.

Completely captivated!

Arranged marriages, mafia romance, alpha males, excitement, suspense, this book has it all! I love S. Massery's style of writing and find myself pulled in and in a "don't bother me, I'm listening to a book" mode as soon as I turn her stories on! This first book in her DeSantis Mafia series is fantastic. We have Amelie and Luca, and unexpected arranged marriage, taking us through the ins and outs of family politics, danger and vendettas. Twists and turns galore, I was on the edge and loving every minute. Amelie is a strong, smart, capable woman married to Luca DeSantis. Not who she thought she would be marrying, but taking one for the family seems to be her destiny. Luca is dark and dangerous, but his soft side is oh, so delicious. Twists and turns, keep them together and apart, and it's a wild ride. Love this beginning to the family and now I can't wait for Aiden's story!

Jacob Morgan and Stephanie Rose bring this gem to life. The two are talented story tellers and know just how to make us picture the story as it unfolds. It's an amazing performance.

Stunning to kick off a new series

This did a very rare thing and surprised me. I almost go into Mafia books and expect the heroine to be meek and naïve, at least at the start, but Amelie had a backbone and knew how to use it. Not that she didn't go through it, because she did, and Luca didn't always do right by her, but if you're looking for a mafia story with a strong heroine, fast paced action and a hefty does of possessive alpha? Then you need to pick this up. I'm VERY interested in continuing this series. For real. I volunteered to listen and review an early copy of this on audio (narrated by the delectable Jacob Morgan and a favourite of mine Stephanie Rose) and all opinions are my own.

A good story

I enjoyed this story and it was well written. It wasn't too dark like some of the mafia books I've precious enjoyed. It has a happy ending.

The narrators were great.

Jacob Morgans voice is swoon worthy

I just re listened to this book in preparation for the next two. as before I wish there was more of Jacob Morgans voice, he sounds so hotting. I'm not going to lie, while the Stephanie did a good job voicing the different characters, I did find her a little robotic when shes describing a setting or voicing the inner monologue. I did enjoy the book for the second time, it's every bit as good as the first time.

Better than expected.

New author for me.
Need more! ❤ Out of all the mafia books I've devoured, this one seems more steeped in a mafia life whereas others felt more like background scenery. Loved this from start to finish. It's full of danger, action, intrigue, feels, it's hot af, and has its dark moments.
Stephanie's narration took a bit of getting used to at the start but her reading gets more fluid and less William Shatnery.
No sympathy for Mateo 😠
Trigger warning for forced sexual assault.

Horrible

Don’t know where to begin. The heroine is a complete and utter idiot. Scenarios were so unbelievable. Waste of a credit.

Meh...skip it

No emotional connection b/t characters. Meet, sex, no real connection, separation, he treats her like shit, and then they just reconnect and she’s his one true love? No mafia stuff, just in background. And a big plot point is just wrapped up in a couple of paragraphs. Didn’t work for me.

I couldn’t finish it - narrator, storyline bad combo

First, plot is a 19 yr old girl thrown to the mafia by marriage and she is smarter than them?!
Second, the female narrator reads like the narrator of the tv series Snapped. For the show, that voice delivery works. Not for a book. She sounds like she’s giving shocking revelations in each sentence.
I have never not finished a book. I always have to know what happens at the end. This time, I’d rather count my losses (in audible credit and time) than to listen to it.

I haven’t finished yet, female protagonist is ANNOYING! 🤬

Ruthless saint

OMG!!!! I can NOT with this book!!! I powered through and there was sooooo much promise there at first but Amelie? Jesus on a cracker! What is wrong with her??

Amelie was a walking contradiction… where she was supposed to be upset she wasn’t, where she needed to listen she acted out 🙄 so dumb? The inner monologues made her appear even more stupid. She tried to appear clever but alas… constantly make stupid choices and people had to pick up for her…Luca helps her then it's its fault? When they were in Italy, he asks her to wait but she runs (insert another eye roll) she gets in trouble, expects the person she was "running away from" to help her...he does and she gets them in more trouble THEN doesn't even take accountability for her actions, does she know what that is?

The whole story is a mess. Also, getting a marriage license doesn’t mean folks are married. I don’t understand how she was married when the “I do’s” didn’t even happen 🙄
I thought step 1. Get the license step 2. get actually married theeeeen step 3. Send that to the city fir the certificate… does marriage license mean automatically married in NYC? (If using real cities can there be at least realistic situations? I mean I know I'm reading about mafia etc. but c'mooooon!)

ok, back to the mess that was this book, For instance, She wasn’t able to run from Mateo but she could run from Luca? 🙄🙄 she doesn’t make sense at all ugh she’s a manipulator… she’s not angry at her parents, wilder, Jamison but Luca is where she finds her...I don't even know what that is, no words. She messed his life in Italy, totally messed it up (but she can’t see that of course) He should have married Lucy or somebody else… these bewitching teen beauty stories are getting to me I suppose it would have made a better story if Wilder had married her, she was more suited to a more conniving man.

Her fake “strength” was just so cringey! She’s annoyingly so so stupid! Every time It's her part I kept skipping, and I've done it quite a bit…This character is dumber than a sack of rocks! I mean the narrator wasn't too helpful either, I did not care for her performance in this book but also it could be the character and that's why I'm giving it 4 stars (more for Jacob Morgan if we are being honest) I bout this book partly because Jacob Morgan embody the characters he reads for but he was hardly in this book! I mean this book is called "Ruthless Saint" but the story seems like it was Amelie's, was she the Ruthless Saint? Really? So, I'm about to finish chapter 27 (don't think I will) and not much about Luca AT ALL! Jacob Morgan could have saved the book reading Luca and we would have heard less of Amelie, sigh., no such luck. Amelie really killed the story for me, I just can't get behind whiny, stupid female protagonist at aaaaall.

NOT worth a credit, I'm going to see if I could return this...UGH what a waste.

Wow!

This was different & in a great way. Loved how this story flowed. This was my first story I’ve listened to from this Author. Loved this couples story & how complicated their love story was. How we are introduced to the characters that will obviously be in the next book. I’m intrigued.
So of course I basically got this because of Jacob Morgan. Which of course he rocked it, I love his voice. Stephanie Rose has a great voice & I enjoyed her reading as well.

Dark romance yum!

Loved this arranged marriage romance with a twist. Amelie and Luca were amazing. Not the couple that I would have expected and Luca is no hero…until he is. The chemistry between these two is scorching and they have a great connection despite their circumstances. Luca was a total anti-hero, but fully redeemed himself in the end in my eyes. And Amelie was no doormat which I LOVED!!

Narration was performed by Jacob Morgan and Stephanie Rose. This narrating duo was golden and I loved every minute of it. They brought Luca and Amelie to life perfectly! Definitely recommend!

The HELL!🤬🙄

I did not finish this one. At one point they were so back and forth with their feelings towards each other I thought I was listening to a different story. The main fc had me wishing she was a real person and I could punch her in the face. Her tantrums and attitude and the narrator that was reading the part was a horrible combination. As far as her and Lukas relationship I don’t understand what could have possibly happened to make him feel anything but contempt for her and the same for her. This story just didn’t come together very well at all.
