Loved it 🥰

Thank God. I’ve listened to some terribly written stories lately (the last book had the author clearly trying to sell her other books and not focusing on the story at hand), so I am happy to have stumbled upon an author who can put together not only a well written love story, but solidly developed characters that you become invested it and want to root for. The h was unique, strong and had a mind of her own, without being too pushy. I really loved listening to her pov chapters and didn’t have the urge to ff thru any of them. Goals.
The H was equally as fantastic.
It was easy to follow the progression of their feelings and it made sense.
Narration was great. I have no complaints.
I will definitely be getting the rest of Neva Altaj’s audiobooks and the ones that aren’t available here will be going on my kindle.
Worth a credit/purchase for sure.

More romance than Mafia

Typically I like my mafia romance books to have more of an encompassing feeling of the mafia world. However this book is really good for beginners with this romance. I think the story was really great and not too dramatic where it didn’t need to be. I noticed a lot of authors tend to blow up a certain reaction from their main character to put some distance between the two love interest before they ultimately reunite. Personally this one just didn’t have the dramatic feel, so I loved it!

I love the story and I definitely enjoyed the performance. Gregory and Allyson did an excellent job. I can’t wait for the next book.

New author & series for me… I loved it

This is the first book in the perfectly imperfect series written by Neva Altaj. One of the things that I immediately liked was the personality of the FMC Nina. I thought she was great. When Nina’s father gets in trouble with the Russian mob, Nina has to go to their leader Roman and strike a deal with them to get her father off the hook. This book kind of has an opposites attract feel to it, and I have really liked how Nina & Roman connected/ interacted with each other. This isn’t the spiciest thing I’ve ever read or listened to, although there are some on page descriptions, they tend to be kind of short/quick. I really enjoyed the this mafia read. It was fun, entertaining and a relatively quick read that got right to the point as far as the story goes. This was the first book I’ve listened to with Allyson Voller- who I thought did a great job. Gregory Salinas was fantastic as always, he is one of my favorite male narrators. This audiobook has dual narration. I’m excited to listen to book 2 in this series.

I love this series!

Neva Altaj managed to write a mafia romance series that is equally intriguing and a bit emotional.
This is not my favorite book, but I think it’s a pretty nice beginning.

The narration was fine, female narrator sounds a bit bored. It took me a while to get used to her voice. On the other hand Gregory Salinas was the perfect fit for Roman.

I can’t wait for the next book, broken whispers, it’s by far my favorite from Neva Altaj 😉

Nina is a strong, determined, quirky artist and, at school, she used to take on different personas.. all strengths which’ll help when she becomes a bartered wife to the Pakhan in a six month deal because her father owes millions to the Russian Mafia. Roman is handsome but grumpy, he needs a wife to show his strength after a car bomb nearly killed him and left him struggling with an injured knee and wheelchair dependent but determined. Determined to a) walk again, b) find the traitor responsible.. and c) keep his wonderful new wife. They thought it’d be ‘separate rooms’ easy but neither one was prepared for the other.. or the chemistry, feisty banter and organic relationship growth that turned pretend kisses into real ones.

Worth a credit? Yes, there was a solid, enjoyable flow and growth to their very entertaining story with light humor, light drama, angst, stumbling blocks, tears and tension, sex, romance, swoons.. and so much more!! From their challenging first meet ‘n greet, to their happily ever afters, Gregory and Allyson did a great job with the dual POV storyline.. and I loved the sexy cover too 😜.

From Start to Finsh

Listened to it in one go. I wasn't as excited about Nina until she started showing her caring nature toward Ramon. This was a very delicate but strong story about the challenges of a young leader and his contracted special wife. Definitely love in the most unlikely place.

The talent for the narration brought made me lose my breath a few times.

Great Audiobook!

Well written, fantastic narrators, good storyline, and like-able characters. Well done!
My only issue with the book is that it wasn’t long enough (for me); I tend to like a 10+ hour book with some more character development and chemistry. As I look through the other books in this series it seems they are all under 7-8 hours like this one is.
Still 100% worth a credit. Don’t pay full price for the book though because it’s like $28.
