About this listen

If you could turn back the clock and fix all the mistakes you ever made, would you?

From the author of the award-winning Web-novel Reborn: Evolving from Nothing comes the tale of Micheal Care, a swordsman that could only be considered a middling warrior in Humanity's Last Army.

Micheal's answer to that question would be quite simple.

Yes. A million times yes.

Humanity has fallen, killed by stronger races of beings after being warped away to a new reality, the mystical Seven Layers.

Humanity's goal had been simple. Make it through all Seven Layers and reach Heaven.

Humanity failed.

Humanity died.

Micheal Care's memories have been transported back into his past self thanks to a magical Artifact he found by chance.

He is no chosen savior. He is no divinely picked hero.

Can he change the future? Can he catch up to the mightiest warriors of humanity and surpass them?

Listen and find out.

A joy to listen to

Absolutely incredible all around
The narrator hit this out of the park. Just so incredible.

still my fave series

you can tell this is an author's first book but is amazing.

seems like having a story that structured would be difficult.

Definitely worth a go

I really enjoyed this book. It has an interesting approach to the genre with good pace and elements that generate side plots with great potential. The main character is is well done formed and runs the tight rope of not being overpowered but still being more capable than he should rather well.
The only real criticism I have is the way some authors have of getting too much mileage out of a particular turn of phrase. One such author (not this author) had nearly every character “smirk” a response, action or thought weather it was appropriate or not and this was so prevalent that I couldn’t continue with the book. In this case the author comes close with the “eyes flashing” phrase, although not nearly as bad.
All in all I’d very much recommend the book and I am keen to get the second in the series when it is released.

Pretty damn good!

It's great to see a concept so readily put into comics and anime portrayed in this book, not once was I bored or losing interest in the happenings of each chapter.
Everything is very well explained and no details left out, so you don't end up ask how this and that happened later. Last but not least is the pacing which I thought was on point, nothing felt rushed and the MC was working at good pace instead of a 1 to 100 kind of deal.
If you're a fan of this kind of thing then I can without doubt say you'll find some enjoyment in this book.

It's not really "reborn"

The concept of timetravel is introduced into this book, and so far, I have also read, not just heard these books, the concept isn't dealt with in the most believable way. But if you can suspend the glossing over, of the time-line paradox issues, then the books are a great read. Character progression is fun. Even as he is "re-inventing" himself, with forward knowledge. The side characters are also fun, but are side-lined in each "realm". At least so far. I am hoping that the next book in the series, will bring the story together a bit, and bring back more cohesion to side characters that have been ignored in the latest books. The voice is "clean" easy to listen to, and at no point was I annoyed by the speaker. The story itself is quite interesting, and a good read. The only reason it isn't a 5 is because this deserves to be compared to some of the best books in the genre. It really does, and there it is very close, but as the book tries to be original and succeeds, there is a reason other authors haven't tried the same, it can be complicated to write a story. And sometimes, there are minor misses. Not in terms of contradictions directly. But awfully close. And for me, that takes off a point. But the whole series, is so far, a solid read. Love it.

Great Story, Amazing voice acting

I've read quite a few of these "Hero goes back in time to save the world" type of books. That being said, this is one of the most action packed and interesting iterations I've ever listened to.

PRO's
The intelligence and planning ability of the hero is understandable as he's essentially done this before and i cant help but get excited to see how he plans to overcome every new obstacle that comes his way.

The main antagonist of this volume actually acts in a way that you would expect an intelligent but immoral character to behave.

The action scenes are well designed and definitely gets my blood pumping.

I cant stress this enough but THE VOICE ACTING WAS AMAZING. Adam Stubbs manages to portray the sheer strength and experience of the character with every sentence he utters.

CON's
Would like to see the protagonist interact with broader range of characters in consequent novels.

This was too short (If i was being honest, i'm only complaining about this because i enjoyed it so much)

A well done do-over litrpg

Reminiscent of a few other stories, this one manages to still remain fairly fresh.

the protagonist is not talented, but has instead had to work his butt off and study hard. As a result he has an eclectic collection of skills and knowledge which makes him seem like a super genius by comparison.

I made a drinking game of the words "instant" and "split-second". seriously... so many times! no really! The longest I noticed between uses of the word instant was 5 minutes!

other than that. worth a listen.

Interesting premise.

I like the idea of this book a lot. Whiles this is a LITRPG and you always get reborned in someway. It's about being reborn in the same world just in the past once more and going though the same thing as the first time. However this time he's armed with the knowledge from his first run. How much easier is it when you go back and replay a video game story. Even when you incease the difficultie you will beat it faster with higher scores. This is the core of this book. No op powers given to him, just him knowing what is op and how to min max, who is worth knowing and who to save/recruit and who to kill.
For a first book i still felt like i was learning about the world and intersted in the world building to. Overall i liked the story ark if you have a free credit then give it a go. I'm looking forward to the second book.
