Story
It is said that all who live belong ultimately to the Undying King. In the shadowy lands of Shyish, Nagash, God of Death, calls forth his soulless legions to reassert his dominion. His dread advance begins with the free city of Glymmsforge, bastion of Azyr in the Realm of Death. Standing between Nagash and his prize are the brooding Anvils of the Heldenhammer, an ancient host of Stormcast Eternals, and Lord-Castellant Pharus Thaum, guardian of the Ten Thousand Tombs. As battles between the living and the dead rage throughout the Mortal Realms, the War of Heaven and Death begins anew.

In the dark corners of the Mortal Realms, the mad and mysterious Gloomspite Gitz go to war, following the trail of their abominable lunar deity. Nowhere is beyond the sight of the Bad Moon—not even those places under Sigmar’s protection, like the sweltering city of Draconium. Beneath the scalding rains of Aqshy, the city is a boiling pot of tension, its regent praying to Sigmar for guidance while Watch Captain Helena Morthan douses the fires of anarchy: blades drawn in the streets, heretical doomsayers preaching the end of days, and insects eating watchmen alive.

A great warhost of Tzaangor beastkin, creatures devoted to Tzeentch, the Architect of Fate, defile the once verdant lands of Ghyran. All that opposes them are the noble Stormcast Eternals of the Hallowed Knights. Reforged in resplendent sigmarite and wielding the lightning of Azyr, few can stand against these heroes. Summary
A Warhammer: Age of Sigmar audio drama series
In the strange worlds of the Mortal Realms, Gotrek Gurnisson craves one thing above all: purpose. When he discovers a being who might lead him to it, he will stop at nothing to find them - but old enemies seek the same prize....
Listen to it because:
Gotrek's adventures in the Mortal Realms continue, written once again by David Guymer, with an all-star cast - headed by Brian Blessed! Say it with us: Gotrek's alive!
The story:
Gotrek Gurnisson was once the greatest Slayer of the Old World, meeting his doom in the great cataclysms of the End Times. The heroic duardin stepped forth into the Realm of Chaos to fight the daemons gnawing at the world's ending and satisfy his death oath, leaving behind his companion Felix Jaeger. Now, he finds himself in a strange new realm where gods walk the earth and dark forces are ascendant.
Within the endless forests of Ghyran, Gotrek learns of a being with the power to guide him to what he craves above all else: a destiny, and a purpose worthy of his legend. What he seeks is a prize more terrible than any he could have imagined, fought over since the dawn of time by powers beyond even his indomitable strength. Nor is he the only scion of the Old World to be drawn by its promise, and Gotrek will have to overcome the greatest nemesis of his past if he is to claim his future.

Brian Blessed couldn't carry this one
The situations were as hard to follow as Labyrinth they got lost in. The writing was not the authors best and it sort of spat on Gotrek's character in the finale. Let us just say he forsakes his oathes for new ones for no tangible reason and immediately becomes unlikable.
The hunt mistresses overdramatic moaning made it incredibly difficult to get through her dialogue and did the dark elf somehow become a little more comic book villiany, she literally does the same thing twice (oh look Gotrek's dead, better carve the rune...oh he's alive.)
You don't need to remind the audience whose been following his travels about her eeeeeeevil intentions anytime she has to say something, it gets old.

The audio drama format makes it hard to follow
I enjoyed it, it's Gotrek being Gotrek and it's performed very well (Brian Blessed is great) but I frankly dislike the audio drama format, or perhaps just how this one was written since I had no trouble with the Realmslayer AD. stuff just kind of happens and you can only tell something is happening by the yelling and sounds of fighting. A bit hard to follow along with and it's making it much harder to enjoy for me than the other Gotrek novels.
