It is said that all who live belong ultimately to the Undying King. In the shadowy lands of Shyish, Nagash, God of Death, calls forth his soulless legions to reassert his dominion. His dread advance begins with the free city of Glymmsforge, bastion of Azyr in the Realm of Death. Standing between Nagash and his prize are the brooding Anvils of the Heldenhammer, an ancient host of Stormcast Eternals, and Lord-Castellant Pharus Thaum, guardian of the Ten Thousand Tombs. As battles between the living and the dead rage throughout the Mortal Realms, the War of Heaven and Death begins anew.

Summary
Realmslayer is the most exciting project I have worked on in years, and playing Gotrek fired my imagination with wonder. He possesses enormous courage and imagination, and is totally fearless – more powerful than any hero in literature and history.
What a challenge! It was like playing ten King Lears at once! He will live forever.
(Brian Blessed, the voice of Gotrek Gurnisson in Realmslayer)
Gotrek Gurnisson was the greatest monster slayer of the age, who met his doom at the End Times. The heroic duardin stepped forth into the Realm of Chaos to fight the daemons gnawing at the world's ending and satisfy his death oath, leaving behind his companion Felix Jaeger.
Now Gotrek has returned, having outlived the old gods and the Old World. Spat from the ruinous depths with his redemption unfulfilled, he emerges into the Mortal Realms, a strange new world where gods walk the earth and dark forces are ascendant. Nothing is as he remembers. His oaths are dust, and the lands are torn asunder by Chaos.
Yet when Gotrek learns of human champions being elevated to immortality for Sigmar’s fight against this darkness, the so-called 'Stormcast Eternals', he knows why fate has brought him into this new age. To find Felix. For only then can he find the peace in death he seeks. But is there more to Gotrek's apotheosis than even he can fathom? Has he truly been chosen by Grimnir and for what purpose?

An absolute must!
An amazing cast and production that makes it feel like a (great) Hollywood movie! I actually listened to the whole thing in one sitting. They need to make more of these!
I've been listening to GW audio dramas / books for years and this is by far the best thing they've done (and they've done a lot of great stuff)!

A Love Letter to Old Fans
Long time Gotrek fans will enjoy this. Brian Blessed is great, but strikes me as a slightly odd choice for the character in retrospect; Gotrek has quite a dark, tragic side that Blessed isn't quite able to capture.
That being said, Gotrek is very much the embodiment of grouchy, old-school Warhammer fans in this story. It's great to see GW are not beyond laughing at themselves, and it work very well seeing the Mortal Realms through the lens of an ancient, irascible grouch.
It's nice to see a bit more of the Fyreslayers, too, as they've been somewhat neglected for a long time.
The plot itself, whilst not outstanding, is not bad either. Realmslayer serves as an amusing, gentle reintroduction of a beloved character into a new setting, btmut probably won't be terribly entertaining to listeners without a vested interested in Gotrek's story.

"My axe thirsts, and I shall lead her to drink!"
The only negative I have about this production is that I want so much more of it!!! This isn't an audiobook, a reading of a novel, but more a radio play, relying on the amazing ambient sound effects and the divine delivery of all the voice actors involved. Dialogue heavy, sound effects and music are all perfectly balanced and Gotrek was made for Blessed! Story is only four hours long, last hour is interviews. Set up for a whole series. Bring it on!!!!

Too much theatre not enough novel.
Great story and acting, no doubt about that.
But for me the lack of audio description left me very lost in this new world.
Many new races and creatures were unknown to me and there was a lack of description or explanation that you would get from a novel.
I found myself having to Google things I didn't know how to spell. Instead of using my imagination as there was no description to base it on.
Great story, definitely not for listening too at night as very loud and noisy with the sound effects.
With all the effort that's been made to put out such a great production it would have been great to have an appendix with descriptions, explanations or pictures of the creatures or races.
We don't all play Age Of Sigmar.
I'm just a fan of Gotrek and the black library.
Worth a listen, but I think I'll stick to the classic style of audio books in the future.

Pretty good for a leyman of 40k like myself
The story was great, I love greater-than-life characters. I wish they would make a movie about him. The narration was amazing! As to be expected from such names. The only thing I didn't like were the added noises from the background. Sometimes it was hard to understand what the actual characters were saying. And some of the have hard enough accents alreary.

Solid return for Gotrek
My only complaint is how brief everything is but its a surprisingly good return to form of the original series mixed with the straight high fantasy of the second authors books. The changes to Gotrek are appropriate for a dwarf stuck in the realm of Chaos for about ten thousand years and the characters that come along perfectly fitting.
Well voice acted, accompanying sound effects perfectly over the top, chapters get broken up into parts sort of like the originals in Trollslayer and Skavenslayer and is used to good effect. Very reminiscent of where the series started without being an uninspired series of repeats.
Now we need the original series done this way, plus all of Ciaphas Cain, Black Librarys latest effort for their audio have been amazing and these older series seeing new love is amazing.

The only reason I started to care about AOS
Gotrek is back! and I am new to Age of sigmar but not to Warhammer Fantasy, read all the previous books and played the tabletop. I am getting to know this world along with the newly arrived Slayer and it is a Great suprise that I kind of like it.. even if I miss the old world alot. The Narrators are Great, Brian does a good job as does the rest of the cast!

Terrible
Gotreks fighting prowess is definitely not captured and the character feels different from the original, more soft, stupid and uninteresting. Stick to the original. Shouldn’t have touched the series and just left them as a legend. The writers are simply too different, and it is painfully disappointing.
