Summary

News of the coronavirus hits New York City, and LA-native Jade is stuck dog-sitting in her best friend’s Brooklyn apartment. Her bestie, Zora, is on her honeymoon in the Maldives and may now be stuck there, too. The island has canceled all flights. Only God knows when Zora will return and Jade can fly back to LA.

Then Zora’s brother, Kamal, shows up with his bags and proclaims that he’s temporarily moving in, which is odd because he has his own luxury condo in Manhattan. Something’s clearly happened with him and his girlfriend.

As the global pandemic ravages the world, Kamal and Jade become coronavirus roommates in Zora’s one-bedroom apartment. Each day brings unique challenges for the pair while they navigate the new normal. Although they have to deal with bumps in the road, they quickly figure out that as long as they have each other, they can handle anything. Plus, there are many steamy ways to pass the time!

no to Lacy Laurel as narrator

It was a good story but the narrators didn't do it justice.
the writing was good but the narrators failed emotional depth. I can't stand Lacy Laurels tone for female or male characters. The male narrator was ok but Micheal Pauly would have been better.

Amazing plot, characters and enjoyable but.....

I read "Redemption" and gave it 5 stars for book and audible. "Quarantine and Chill" has even better plot and characters , hot , hot and steamy , great cultural insight into Indian weddings and really a "feel good" experience for the pandemic. My only problem was the narration of Jade; I enjoyed Ebony's narration in "Redemption" much more than Lacey Laurel.... I wasn't sure if she was trying out Mae West at times. If Mari from "Redemption" had narrated Jade, I think it would have taken this book from a 3 star to 5+. Still a thanks to Kenya Wright for "feel good" pandemic story.

Ugh!

The story was decent however, the narration was horrible. It was really hard to get through. I almost stopped listening to the story because it was driving me nuts.

Good book, terrible female narrator

This was a very good book. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and how the author captured current events. The male narrator was awesome. Voice inflictions were on point. However, the female narrator was the worst. It took me several days to listen to this book because I didn’t like the female narrator. Her voice and inflictions were annoying and too forced. Listening to her made me wished I’d read the book.

Excellent

I love Kenya books. Of course my favorite is the Lion and the Mouse. This book was a good love story. I truly enjoyed the flow of the book and the characters. KAM and Zora, I could just see them together. I would like to have a Indian wedding. What fun 😁😊. I truly recommend the book. Enjoy and please keep the books coming. 😊😀🍷🍹🍸🍰

Pretty good

Loved the storyline; packed with drama, some comedy, love, sex, and sadness. Traditional Indian wedding was very descriptive. Lacy Laurel’s voice cracks me up; the narrators were perfect for this book and brought life to the characters. Will add this one to my favorites. Good job Kenya!

What a wonderful story!

I loved the characters. They were honest and funny. Some story tropes set the H and h in denial of their feelings and the whole premise is about overcoming that denial. Not this story. It is original, gut-wrenching, timely, refreshing and so believable. Thank you Kenya Wright for this treasure.

NARRATOR

I love the story really hits the time just right. The worst part was the female narrator. I just didn’t agree with the ghetto vibe, especially Karen’s character.
