Summary

They say a soul mate only comes along once. I believe it, too. I had my chance, but it slipped away. Each day a little more of myself dies, but I pretend I’m fine.

That is until I see him - the man who makes me feel alive - Garrick Shaw.

Something within me changes. It’s unavoidable and unlike anything I’ve ever known. And it scares me, terrifies me.

But there’s another danger lurking around the corner. Someone is conspiring to take it all away.

Who are they?

What do they want?

Why are they after me?

Only time will reveal what’s really going on. Hopefully, Garrick and I survive the fallout.

Don't buy if you dont want to read 3 books

I feel so cheated at the end of the book is a cliffhanger so I need to buy two more books to get to the end of the story. This is not really something I wanted to do. The story was good enough with lots of twists and turns but such a huge disappointment that after so many hours I did not get answers. The narrator's voice was particularly annoying in her depiction of men, but I persevered to the annoying end. Please writers if you do have to do the 3 part stories, make it obvious so we know that's what you are doing.

Sentimental drivel

This could have been a brilliant plot, if not for all the gushing and over the top unbelievable sentimentality. Nobody speaks in sentence’s like the lovebirds.
The narrator did the best she could with the material she was given.
I want to know the outcome, but cannot bear to listen to one more book, let alone two.
So happy to remain ignorant

Very heavy story. Unrealistic & a cliffhanger

Too heavy toi complicated & way to over the top ridiculous. That said this is one emotionally heavy read. To me it felt as though I was trudging through tar flats with ankle weights on. There never seemed to be much reprieve from the incredibly depressing past the FMC carried with her in the present.

I tried, I really did because I wanted to like it and find a HEA for this gal but it felt like too much work to get there. I stopped steady reading 1/3 of the way through and started skipping around. The FMC was so weak, I just can't stand women who need to be taken care of emotionally and surrender once a man enters the picture. Then the story took a turn to be so really silly. THEN it ends on a cliffhanger. <smh> In my opinion it's just not worth going further. with the next book.
Sorry.

Full disclosure I'm not a fan of this narrator so her voice may have swayed my opinion. She always sounds like she is on the verge of a nervous breakdown even in the fleeting happy moments. Her male voices are awful. Listening takes steeling yourself to the inevitable finger nails on a chalk board.

Unrealistic and a cliffhanger

An icky, possessive relationship forms- seriously, IRL the red flags would have me running for the hills. He has a sweet side- but it’s so unrealistic as to also gross me out. The girl almost pains me- she just has no life- looses her job but has almost no concerns to get a new one, never sees her family, has friends who she hasn’t talked to in ages, even a roommate who doesn’t know she is a widow. She moves in with the guy AND says “I love you” in less than a week. Toward the end I was just grinning and bearing it because i wanted to know how the mystery/drama external to their relationship was resolved. That’s when I realized it was going to be a cliffhanger and I’d need to purchase the next book (this first was free)… I feel scammed. I’m not even finishing it now, because in clearly won’t even get what I held out this long for.

The narration was good.

Review

I don’t know what to say if you love romance this books for you but me I was looking for much more suspense and there wasn’t much. It’s a sappy immature love story between grown professional adults that seemed more like junior high school not adults but with that said it’s a beautiful love story. Not giving the end away but it definitely needed an epilogue.

Hanging in…

Really need a male narrator! Story line a little different; H&h dialogue so fake. Also, where is the beach in ORLANDO?
Heading to book two…all three were “free”, so hanging in…

Not going further...

The female character is a bit annoying. I am not so intrigued by the cliffhanger to continue on with the other books. I also didn't enjoy listening to the male character in the woman's voice. I skipped chapters and the development of the story was sooooooo slow.

meh...

Just not believable...
cute, but unrealistic. one weird situation after another.

FMC: Is a little too weak. I understand crap happens and everyone has their way of dealing with it. This is just annoying.
MMC: it's hard to believe he just wants to jump head over heels into a relationship so fast, from being a a guy who's never been attached to anyone.

I did read the 2nd book, wanted to give it a chance. But I swear... I never want to hear the word sweetheart again. I may not be a good judge, but these books were not for me.

Talk about a CLIFFHANGER!!!

I enjoyed this book & the build up to the end just to be left with a huge cliffhanger was excruciating. It was similar to watching a season of your favorite show just to be left hanging on the seasons finale.. The only part that I didn't like about this story is the repeat explanations about the same situation. Still I really enjoyed it & am ready for book 2 of this series.
