Summary

He has it together.
I’m falling apart.

I came to the City with the dream to make it on Broadway.

But instead of hitting it big, I couldn’t be at a bigger dead-end if I tried. I’m a receptionist at my little sister’s company and living with my grandfather. If it wasn’t for my family, I’d be destitute.

When Hunter Everhart walks into my office, my life goes from bad to humiliating.

He saved me on the worst night of my career. And for some reason, the big shot lawyer thinks he can actually fix my life.
But he’s only seen the veneer. There are so many cracks, I can’t let him get too close.
But for some reason when I’m with him, I feel something other than numb.
And I’m starting to believe that he would do anything for me...if I let him.
Even fall for me.

Fall for Me is an inspiring contemporary romance of finding love and starting over after your world has fallen apart. This pause-resisting love story will break and mend your heart as Willow and Hunter fall in love and fight to stay together. This is the first book in the Everhart Brothers series by USA Today best-selling author Claudia Burgoa.

Loving Hunter & Willow!

The Everhart Brothers! I am so excited to have started this series and as always Claudia Burgoa does not disappoint! September 11th is the day the boys lost their parents in the horrific terrorist attack and Hunter has had a great difficulty dealing with it. With the help of his brothers, he joins the law firm and while successful still fights his demons everyday. When he meets Willow, his life shifts. This woman has come to the city to be on Broadway, but when her play does not get off the ground, her life ends up in turmoil. She has her own issues, and Hunter is drawn to her. Now the fun begins! It's a touching romance of life, love and acceptance. Hunter is still on edge as he deals with the loss of his parents and the fear of what is still out there. Willow and her sister Hazel have their own set of problems provoked by their upbringing. Burgoa deals with relevant issues that effect so many people today with compassion and warmth. I enjoyed this story and it is one that will resonate with me as I remember the September 11th as if it happened yesterday. Loved getting to know the first Everhart!

Jeffrey Kafer and Samantha Cook are our story tellers and they tell it so well! Kafer is perfect as Hunter. Slightly distanced, yet compelled to be near Willow, he learns to cope. Kafer gets in Hunter's mind and creates him exactly as I imagined. Willow is full of layers with the many issues she has. Cook peels each on off, finding the emotion to tug at the heart and lets her grow through the story. This team is well cast for these two people creating a realistic and wonderful performance.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 Riveting & Heartfelt!

This is the first book in the “Everhart Brothers” series and wow, what a start it is, Claudia Burgoa did not hold back and takes her readers/listeners on an emotional rollercoaster ride. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. Some of the subject matter falls close to home for me, even after twenty years I struggle with what happened on that tragic day, September 11th, 2001, a day that in embedded in my heart and my mind, a day I wished never happened, a day I wished I could forget, but a day that should never be forgotten. The Everhart brothers lost their parents in the towers that day and it left them forever changed. This book is Hunter’s story, he was twelve years old then and he not only suffered from that devastating loss but it left him damaged. His older brothers did the best they could with him, but he still suffers from issues and they continued to look out for him despite that he became a successful lawyer. Willow Beesley moved to New York hoping to land a role on Broadway, though she hasn’t had her break yet but continues to work on smaller productions. And when her next project folds and her roommate moves out, it left her trying to figure out how she was going to pay her rent, even asking her sister, Hazel, to move in. Instead, Hazel tells her to take a job at Beesley Enterprises and to move in with their grandfather. Hunter met Willow the day she got the bad news about her play not happening, and he helped her more than he knew. She never expected to see him again after that day, so it surprised her to see him at Beesley Enterprises and that her sister knows him and his brothers. I loved all the layers of this beautifully written and heavily hearted plotted story. I say heavily hearted because of some of the subject matter including different mental health issues, Burgoa does a great job covering it all and keeping it real. There is never a dull moment in this book, it contains plenty of drama, both relationship and family, heartfelt emotions, some gut-wrenching moments and a romance that was definitely meant to be. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Jeffrey Kafer and Samantha Cook did a great job portraying the characters, humanizing them, capturing all their emotions and having you feel every single one. They took each role, ran with it and made their own, sounding believable in every role they played. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
