The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

Summary
Other People’s Marriages is an absolutely pause-resisting and heart-breaking listen about the lies we tell to keep our loved ones close, from best-selling author Kerry Fisher.
Steph has spent decades building a family with her husband, Mal, and putting their family first. She is the glue that holds them all together, and she has convinced herself that she’s been happy...most of the time. But as she stands at her birthday party watching her husband talking about a wonderful marriage she doesn’t fully recognise, the doubts that she has been pushing down for so long begin to grow....
After the party, as Steph tries to gather her courage to leave Mal, she receives a letter from her old friend, Evie. Steph hasn’t spoken to Evie since a sunny weekend on a holiday beach 20 years earlier, when the two friends said things to each other that could never be unsaid. And now, Evie is seeking a reunion and a way to repair the friendship. But this reunion threatens to reveal a secret that could destroy two families.

Brilliant Author
I have read everything Kerry Fisher has written and her writing has yet to disappoint me. What I love is her stories are never the usual Woman meets a man, eventually fall in love and live happily ever after. I am bored of that cliche most novelist rely on. Kerry’s stories have depth and her observations about life and quite often death are spot on every time. If you have life experience you will appreciate that this author obviously has too. Narration spot on. Great book from start to finish.

Such a great book
It is incredible how the characters with their thoughts and feelings say and think the same as most of us over the years. Such a clever writer. I feel like noting down some of the remarks as it is full of wisdom and I wish I could have known how to answer friends with more care in the past. How people react with one another is spot on.
Well done.

So good!
I loved this book so much! I was all 3 women at different points. I could NOT take the AirPods out! I work and I am raising 2 Grandchildren so that tells the tale right there. I truely felt every emotion these women had and shared. For 50 and above healing and perseverance and 50 and below prevention and or not waiting to long to make changes or get out!
It was a random pick but something drew me to this book. I’m so thankful it did! I am buying the actual book and hi lighting ALL the emotions it sparked in me. Well done Kerry Fisher. I will be listening or reading all your books! 🙌🏻

I almost gave up …
This is a depressing book about dysfunctional marriages and betrayal between friends and that’s why I almost returned it but something kept me going and I’m ultimately glad I did. I was glad because I was once in the same situation with a friend who’s husband screwed around on her … I told her and wound up regretting it.

I usually read psychological thrillers so this was a refreshing change and I really enjoyed it. The story of three women -- each different from one another, each with big differences in their marriages -- starting when they are young and following through life's ups and downs.
