Teenage novel
It was ok but very much a novel for teenagers. Well… back in my days teenagers.
As usual the main character is a nice person and a pushover. As usual she is so mature for her age and very stable no matter of her previous life experience. As usual there is a big love story in the end…
Performance as usual great!

Didn’t enjoy.
The story was annoyingly predictable. It was obvious what would happen long before it did and that made listening quite frustrating. There was a chapter where the main character was demanding to meet her partner’s child after dating a few months. Acting as though it was unreasonable for her not to and becoming jealous of him spending time with his child and ex partner. The whole story felt really immature. I had to stop listening two thirds of the way through. I really didn’t enjoy this audiobook at all.

Light fluffy and uplifting
This is a bit of a change from my usual crime thriller genre but I really enjoyed this lovely, uplifting story. I loved the character of Callie, who was someone I'd love as a friend. She obviously loves her job and really cared for the residents of the nursing home. I loved the relationship she had with Ruby, and also Rubu's relationship with Iris. And of course there's a romance for Callie.
This was a quick, fluffy listen and the narration by Lucy Brownhill was brilliant.

Couldn't finish
Cliché, predictable story. Frustrating inept characters who react in illogical ways.
The main thing I think is a real shame is the way that the protagonist is portrayed as a frustratingly weak, neurotic, paranoid, over emotional victim. In the era we live it's a shame to still see women portrayed in this way. Very un empowering.
The narration is also poor. All men are given the same voice. I can only describe this as when children imitate a stupid person.
Got so frustrated with it all I had to stop listening.

good story
I enjoyed the characters very much. The main character was a much better person than I. I would have given up on some of those people and she never did. I liked the loyalty of her. I also liked that in the last chapter she explained what happened to everyone. She didn't leave me wondering what happened to some of the people in the story.

just ugh
every character all seemed to have trauma in their history for 1 thing or another attributing to their horrible life choices (therefore their personality deficit is not their fault), and how can all the characters just be so adolescent?? I felt like I was listening to a middle school drama instead of adults ranging in ages from 25-80!
if you like neverending drama with 1 issue after another and very little character growth then you might like this one, I on the other hand cringed all the way through

I don't understand, nor do I want to understand, how or even why anyone can be so blind in a relationship. If a man only comes over to have sex, not take you out...for a year...why would you think there is a future with that person. I tried to listen thinking it would get better even sped up to listen and couldn't make it past several chapters...Glad it was free. I understand it had to be free

My favorite out of 150 audible romances!!!
I can't say enough about how much I loved this story!! It is complicated but woven perfectly and allows the reader to experience multiple relationships with all the complexities of real life drama, pain and reward.
I am addicted to romances novels & shorts. I read them on Kindle and listen on Audible. To date I have approx 150 audible books under my belt mostly romances. I often fall for a new author and enjoy one of their books. A handful + I have loved enough to read their entire series. This author I know will be one of those.
I liked the narrator too but there were a few bobbles where it was hard to distinguish between characters but not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment of the book.
Bravo! More please!
