Summary

The Wilder brothers have retired from the military, and, as they’re forced to learn a new life, things get interesting, quickly, in this kickoff to a brand-new steamy contemporary-romance series - from New York Times best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan.

One dance at a stranger’s wedding. That’s all it took for me to fall for Alexis. And then? Disaster. Another man - her boyfriend - gets down on one knee, and proposes to her. I never thought I’d see her again.

Years later, I’m in desperate need of a wedding planner - not for myself, but for my company. My five brothers and I need to get our new Wilder Resort off the ground, and Alexis is the only one savvy enough to help us. But, there’s the little matter that I still have it bad for her. Alexis has changed since the night we met. She’s gun shy. But there’s a spark between us that will not die. We both fight it, until we don’t.

Until, history repeats itself. The same guy who took her away from me is back to do more damage. But this time, he’ll have to go through me to get her.

The Wilder Brothers: Eli

This is a treat! A night for us (prequel) and One way back to me in one go. Eli, the eldest of the Wilders has brought them all together in a new venture. He meets Alexi and his world changes. It’s a romance with a little danger to spice things up. There’s brotherhood and a sisterhood in formation. I love how Ms Carrie Ann just blends love, sexy times and family in all her books with a bit pf a dangerous twist. This new series is awesome and I can’t wait for Evan’s story. The narration is well performed by two talented narrators. I can’t get enough.

Amazing first book in series

New series by Carrie Ann Ryan The Wilder Brothers Series.
Eli and all his brothers have worked in the military of some form or another of all risked their lives and come out of it but there lost and not sure what to do with themselves. Eli has an idea that he’s going to buy a ranch winery and turn it into a holiday wedding venue with all his brothers.
So the prologue in book 0.5 is where you meet Eli and Alexis at a wedding that she’s organised they have a moment and that’s when he finds out that her boyfriend is there any proposes to her but the story really start in this book when Alexis take a job at the Wilder Ranch and a wedding coordinator. This book actually is Eli and Alexis story and how they meet and get together properly.
I absolutely love this book I love the way it flows, I absolutely love that all the brothers are living together on the ranch and each have their own part to play it just flows really well and I’m from a big family so I really enjoy that kind of feel to a book.
Really enjoyed everything about it and can’t wait for more especially as the narrators did a beautiful job making this book shine as always Carrie Ann Ryan always picks the best narrators.

Great Second Chance story!

I'm 1.5 books into the Wilder Brothers series and I'm already in love! Loved getting to know Eli and his siblings. The way Eli & Alexis met was not under the most ideal circumstances. And from the way things looked, it didn't look like their paths would cross again. I'm so glad that everything is not as it first appears. Really enjoyed getting to know Eli & Alexis. Emma Wilder & Jacob Morgan did an amazing job narrating! I absolutely can't wait for book 2 in the Wilder series.

Incredible

I spent so long listening to this book as I had to keep relistening to so much of it, sounds bad I know but it wasn't because I got lost or zoned out it was because so much of this book was just so beautifully written that I needed to listen to it again. This is a wonderful story of people finding themselves and finding what they deserve.

The narration of this book really did lift it to the next level for me and i just couldn’t put it down. The emotions are very well handled and I cant wait for the next one.

Great series starter!!

One Way Back to Me was an incredible start to the Wilder Brothers Series!

This story and cast of characters really intrigued me and had me wanting more from these Wilder Brothers! Wonderful world-building and flow, giving readers all the information needed to set up the series.

Eli and Alexis met a few years ago, sharing an intense moment dancing together at a wedding. Now their paths are crossing again with Alexis looking for employment at the Wilder Retreat. Alexis and Eli still have the same chemistry between them and they try to hold off but they just have an undeniable connection. There was a little drama with Alexis's ex as well as the neighboring resort. This story was full of love, laughs, and second chances.

The narrators- Jacob Morgan and Emma Wilder, were great and really brought out Eli and Alexis's characters throughout the storyline. Can't wait to read/listen to more of this series!

the Walker brothers are home

I loved Eli and Alexis story, from the start they captured my heart and I was enthralled by their story. After 20 years of being in the military Eli gets out of service and enlists his brothers help in starting the Wilder Resort and Winery - hands on and mechanical things they can do.....rubbing their belly and tapping their heads - erm I mean being a wedding organiser is not something in their skillset, so they employ someone, that someone only happens to be Alexis, the same gorgeous woman who captured Eli's attention 2 years ago. Now what will happen I wonder? Fun and protective times happen. Love growly strong males.
I was enthralled with the storytelling of Carrie Ann Ryan and I was gripped from the first page until the last word was written.

A new series!

A new series, and it’s the Wilder world. 6 big, burly, ex-military brothers, who happen to be brothers of Eliza (married to Beckett Montgomery). They decide to buy a resort and winery together, which will also have weddings on the premise. Enter Alexis, who already had a “connection” with Eli, the oldest brother, one night 2 years ago when they danced at a wedding together. That spark is still there, no matter how hard they try to fight it. But you’ll soon find while reading, or in this case, listening, it’s very hard to resist a Wilder Man. And Jacob Morgan makes a perfect Wilder Man 😍 While Emma Wilder is great as Alexis. I’m very much looking forward to each brothers book!

Great story

I loved the story as well as the narration! Alexis was kinda annoying but nothing you would hate the book over, she just had a lot of self doubt. But I loved how the story came together and I am looking for to the next books!

love it

Alexis is very organized, pleasant, knows how.to keep things going. How to calm excited brides to be. She's a wedding planner and makes sure the happy couple has the dream wedding of their life.
Eli Wilder, the eldest son, has a plan for his brothers to stay together as a career for all. He has his eye on property where they can hold weddings, parties, wine tastings, etc. There's guest cabins , a barn, vineyard, and a wine building. IT's the perfect idea for them to heal after all their tours of duty.
Alexis came to work for them, as the wedding planner, after her divorce. Eli and Alexis relationship heats up.
Her ex, Clint, was possessive, controlling, Jealous, wanting her back. Causing troubles
The drama around him , and another wedding venue, trying to discredit the Wilders, kept me interested in this story.
Emma Wilder and Jacob Morgan tells this story with so much emotion. Giving each character their own voice and personalities. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.

A good start to this series.

I read the Prequel...A Night for Us and loved it. I couldn’t wait for One Way Back to Me…Eli’s story. I liked this story and enjoyed the dynamics between the Wilder brothers and the people who worked for them. I also liked, although somewhat unrealistic, some of the struggles they dealt with…namely their competitions…as they built the Wilder Resort.

The Wilder Resort is growing and expanding. To take the wedding branch of their business to another level, they needed to hire an experienced wedding planner. Alexis, struggling to restart her life after a messy divorce is interviewing for the position. At the interview, she realized that Eli was the man she had danced with at the wedding where her ex-husband had proposed to her. Eli was surprised that Alexis, the woman he had felt that instant spark for but who had accepted the public proposal of her then-boyfriend a couple of years ago, was the woman interviewing for the wedding planner position. Alexis is hired for the position and she is determined to prove her worth. Eli is also determined to ignore the attraction he still had for Alexis and maintain an employer/employee relationship. The story moved along very nicely and it was cute to watch Eli and Alexis navigate their budding relationship.

I had issues with a few things...I didn’t get why the brothers did nothing about the owners of the competing resorts just showing up at the Wilder Resort wherever and whenever they felt like it, slinging slurs and disturbing their business, and no one stopped it. The first time it occurred I could see it, but when they kept popping up I wondered when the brothers would call the police or have their lawyer hit them with a restraining or no-trespassing order.

I also thought that Alexis, for all the effort she put into her business, did nothing to stop her ex-husband from taking everything from her…the later reveal of her background was also counterproductive because I would think with that type of access and knowledge, she'd have done better with legal representation. The way she was so angry at Eli for defending her against her ex, when he attacked her, while trespassing on private property, was annoying.

All in all, I liked the story and look forward to reading the other brothers' stories. I was provided an ARC from the author and am volunteering for a review.

Enjoyed the story

Eli and his brothers are running a business together and need to hire a wedding planner. When Alexis comes to interview for the job he remembers her from a dance they shared. He still feels the attraction for her so isn’t sure if he hires her if he could date her as well. Alexis is gun shy about starting a relationship after getting out of a bad one. Some parts I found a bit repetitive but overall I enjoyed it. Narrators did a good job with these characters

One Way Back To Me

One dance is all it takes but it seems that Alexis and Eli are not destined to be together. When the two get a chance to start again the past comes back to hurt Alexis and it is determined to keep them apart. Can Alexis and Eli find a way to get their happy ever after or will the evil from her past win?

I enjoyed meeting the Wilder brothers. Each man has a strong personality and shines in his own way. Alexis and Eli make a great couple and it was nice to see the two find their way. I loved the brothers, but Alexis is not a favorite for me. She is a bit too naïve for me. It was hard to get past how Alexis ignores the signs of danger from her ex-husband and how she deals with the danger and how Eli reacts to her ex-husband. This story moves at a good pace and is a nice start to The Wilder Brothers series. Narrators Jacob Morgan and Emma Wilder do a nice job of bringing this world and its characters to life.
