Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

A love affair born in rural Ireland! Two mismatched lovers, locked in a relationship that will change both of them...forever!

From the day I was born, I was brought up to believe that Gaelic games were invented for people too stupid to understand the laws of rugby. Little did I know that one day I would become a legend of Kerry football.

But then my life has taken a lot of unexpected twists and turns.

My old man is like the Taoiseach of the country. My wife is an actual minister in his government. And my suddenly teenage daughter is heading for the Jailtacht - and her very first rugby boyfriend.

And then there's Marianne....

Of course, I was too busy becoming a Gaelic football star to realise that my family - like the entire country - was being pushed towards a cliff edge. And I was the only man capable of saving Ireland's democracy.

Which is just like, 'F---------k!'

Great observation of recent times, in a very Irish and familiar context.

Real depth of culture insight and political comment achieved through ‘shallow’ but very lovable characters.

Take some time off PaulHoward, youve lost the plot

This one had to be the most preposterous plots yet. The personality of characters we've grown to love, became caricatures so the plot-line could progress. Take some time off Paul Howard, you've lost the plot!!!! Also, *so* tired of the male narrative of mother bating woman bashing relentless bile. Maybe some psychotherapy during your sabbatical?

Absolutely superb as usual

The story and the narration are absolutely perfect. I can’t fault anything. Ross gets himself into and out of so many scrapes it never fails to entertain. Rory Nolan narrates superbly the voices are spot on for all the characters and never fail to be consistent throughout.
I cannot recommend this book enough!

I really hope they continue to release the back catalogue in audiobook format.
