Summary

“I don’t think this complex is big enough for the both of us, Dr. St. Clair.”

Staring up into the eyes of Ethan Fuller, the single dad and divorce attorney who opened his practice in the same complex as mine, I should have known he was bad news—for my business and my heart.

But when has that organ in our chests ever listened to rational thought, huh, ladies?

As a marriage and sex therapist, I take pride in helping couples revitalize their marriages, or women embrace their sexuality, focusing on empowerment and fighting for love.

But Ethan Fuller stands for the opposite of everything I believe in with a mischievous smile that makes me weak in the knees, threatening my business and everything I’ve built, and eventually sparking a prank war between us.

Until the day he kisses me—and then nothing makes sense besides the raw magnetism I feel for him, and the pure adoration I have for his son.

My brain tells me to be cautious, but my heart leads the way as we give in to our feelings toward one another and visions of our future are all I can see. Until that vision is threatened by one admission that has us struggling to catch our breaths and acknowledging what we truly feel.

And even though I know that walking away was the right thing to do, I fight to uphold the promises I made to his son and myself—the types of promises that have me realizing there is no other man I could see my future with.

What do you do when the person you’re supposed to be with is too scared to admit it? What do you do when you refuse to sacrifice what you want and who you are for a man? And how do you move on when in your heart you know, there’s no one else?

Great tropes!

Audiobook review: Narrated by Emma Wilder and Noah B. Perez
4 stars for story / 5 stars for performance

No One Else is chock full of some amazing tropes: single-dad, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, opposites attract just to name a few. I really loved how our two main characters, Amelia and Ethan, are instantly drawn to each but have opposite ideas of where their future lies. It’s a great dilemma in that it really makes you think. I really love these ladies (who brunch) and their relationship. The way they stand up for each other and aren’t afraid to call each other out when they are stuck in their head. Ethan is such a lovable book boyfriend and the relationship he has with both his mom and his son will have you swooning.

The narrators did an amazing job bringing their characters to life. Each of them were amazing when taking on their counterpart characters as well. The emotional nuances that were present were great and really had me immersed in the story. I highly recommend this one on audio!!

So much tension

Amelia is such a sweetheart, she is full of sunshine and warmth. She is so kind and caring and intelligent, so when she meets Ethan, her opposite in almost every way, her life is flipped upside down.
Amelia and Ethan are so combustible! There is so much chemistry between them, that when things heat up there’s an instant reaction.
Oliver is the absolute sweetest, and is definitely my favorite character in this story.
This was so full of emotions, of overcoming your fears, and past and moving forward.

Both narrators did a fantastic job bringing this story to life!

Ethan and Amelia!

From the time that she was a teenager Amelia has wanted to be a therapist to help couples work through their problem rather than seeing them divorce. She is happy to be able to move her practice out of her home into an office but finding out that a divorce lawyer is there as well isn’t good news. This is only reinforced by their first meeting and the battle is on.

Ethan is a single father to his five-year-old son Oliver, and he knows first hand that sometimes divorce is the only solution. Amelia is his friend’s sister, and he acknowledges that his actions toward Amelia have been far from cordial so he suggests a truce that includes a physical relationship but when feelings become involved they will both need to reassess where they go from here.

The chemistry between them is intense and I enjoyed the relationship both between Ethan and Amelia and Oliver and Amelia. Although they had some angst to overcome their friends and family were there to show them the way. The narrators only made the characters more captivating as they brought out all the feelings and heat of this couple.

Come to brunch!!!

This is one of those series that I can fall into and forget about the day. It's so fun to get lost in a good love story, but this is so much more. It's four women who will do anything for each other, a sisterhood that is unbreakable and is there for each other through thick and thin. This is Amelia's story. She is a marriage counselor/therapist and does her best to help couples heal and remain together. She just got into her new office only to find that across from her is her brother's best friend Evan's divorce lawyer office. Angry? You could say so. Evan does his best to antagonize her and she falls for it every time. But it's because of his attraction to her. The chemistry is real and sizzling! But can these two ever see eye to eye on a relationship? Amelia has standards and expectations, and I love how she stands up for herself. Evan is a bit damaged, and his past experience gets in his way. His mom is a doll, and the girls are right there for Amelia with advice. It's a fantastic listen, flying by showing just how good the plot is. I loved this enemies to lovers story and look forward to the next in the series.

Noah B Perez and Emma Wilder are our story tellers and they are amazing together. Becoming the characters, they each find the essence of the personalities and keep the characters believable and likable. Perez has a lot of emotions going through him as he works through his obstacles. His voice easily charms Amelia! Wilder is bringing all the feels with Amelia. She is smart, vulnerable and ready to give her heart, bring Amelia alive with each inflection. I enjoyed their performance and this audio.

Ethan & Amelia

3.95 stars

Another book in the Ladies Who Brunch series, full of banter and smexy times.
Ethan and Amelia’s transition from enemies to lovers was quite fast and early in the story. More “enemies” shenanigans would have been nice. Amelia’s relationship with Oliver, Ethan’s son, was the cutest and I could feel in how much pain everyone involved was when the relationship broke up. Such good writing and narration in this part!
Emma Wilder voices Amelia, a woman that knows what she wants and takes no punches to get it. Noah B Perez, narrates Ethan, a single dad with a good but broken heart.

Loving this series!

This book was so good!! I loved Charlotte and Damien, from childhood enemies to a fake relationship to falling in love. So many fun moments and ones that had me laughing out loud like the party at Dave’s. There are some serious themes throughout as well and dealing with toxic parents. I loved how therapy was talked about and doing healthy boundaries even with parents. The friendship and support throughout Charlotte's tribe and with her aunt was heartwarming. This friend group is one I wish I had in real life. Charlotte was an independent and fierce heroine and Damien quickly stole my heart. Together they had some great banter, sweet yet sexy, and being vulnerable with one another. Damien will make you swoon with the period care he offers Charlotte. Overall, the story was beautifully written and relatable, I am looking forward to the next audio in this series!

Narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor - this was a perfect casting for Charlotte and Damien. Their performance was top-tier and the voices complimented one another nicely. This was a very enjoyable listen and one I highly recommend!! Hope to see more from this duo in the future.

Excellent Story & Narration🎧 A Steamy Delight!

Harlow James pens another fantastic romance novel set in her “The Ladies Who Brunch” series and it is just as amazing as the first book, “Never Say Never”.  Each book in the series features a different lady as the lead character, but they other crossover into each other’s books so it is beneficial to enjoy the books in order written, not only do you get the most out of the world building, but seeing them again is like seeing old friends. This book features Amelia St. Clair, a therapist and marriage counselor, who finally gets to move her practice out of her home and into an office in a new complex. She was not expecting the last office to be rented to a divorce attorney, something she tries to prevent her clients from doing. And to top it off is how arrogant (and good looking) the attorney was. Ethan Fuller, a lawyer and a single dad has a jaded view on marriage, and even marriage counselors and he was not shy to share his opinion, but Amelia gives as good as she gets and with the help of her friend she is even one step ahead. There is some great pull between these two and back-and-forth banter is fabulous and so was his son, Oliver, who was a scene and heart stealer. I loved how everything played out in this book, and like the first book, it is well-written, plotted and multi-layered, with lots of drama, charming humor and witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. It was great to see the ladies who brunch again, always fun times, always having each other’s backs. Ms. James, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Noah B. Perez and Emma Wilder did a fabulous job of portraying the characters, giving each their own distinct voice and humanizing them with their own personality, and were believable in every role they performed. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and had you feeling each one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevated this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
