I loved visiting Magnolia Falls!
Now we are talking. A small town, sports, enemies to lovers romance. How can I go wrong? I know Laura Pavlov never lets me down, and this is one of her best! Romeo owns a boxing gym. Overcoming a difficult time in his teen years, he is doing his best. Constantly harassed by a boxing champ to get in the ring, he finally agrees and begins his training. Next to the gym is a coffee shop, run by Demi, the daughter of the family that caused him so much trouble. The two are at odds from the beginning, until Demi makes the first move and gives him protein shakes to aid in his training in exchange for self defense lessons. But is this olive branch enough to let Romeo act on his feelings? I cannot even begin to talk about how good this story is. From the wealthy and powerful t0 the boy from the wrong side of town, I was completely engrossed in the story. Pavlov gives a phenomenal view into showing all families have problems despite their class. She let me into a love that was unbreakable despite where they come from. My invested heart was filled with warmth. This is a great way to start the new year.
And how could it be even better? Have Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor narrate it! This team had to be the voices Pavlov had in her mind as she wrote this story. Crais has a way of bringing his emotions into a character like Romeo that feel real and his love comes through like a hug. Then Brentmoor comes in as Demi. She is strong, yet vulnerable, has a true heart and believes in truth. Every feeling is there as she brings Demi alive. I loved this, a great way to end my weekend and can't wait to visit Magnolia Falls again!

small town boxer romance
4.5 stars. If someone knows how to write a small town romance, it's Laura Pavlov. She's from a rich family and has just opened coffee shop, he hates her rich family and runs the gym next door to her coffee shop. Enemies to friends to lovers vibes.
Listened on audiobook and really rated both narrators.

Laura Pavlov has once again created an amazing small town romance full of smexy, long- lasting friendships and found family and some intrigue.
I was slightly disappointed at how quickly the relationship developed from hate to love but with Connor Crais saying those words in my ear I was slightly distracted… ;)
Thank you Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais for bringing Demi and Romeo to life.

These two were so perfect for each other!
Laura Pavlov has done it again! She’s created an amazing fictional world with interesting characters. I loved this book so much.
This small town, grumpy x sunshine, opposites attract romance was so well done and the characters were so perfect for each other. Romeo is a boxer and owner of a local gym with a rough past. Demi is known as a good girl and she comes from a wealthy family.
The chemistry between these two was perfect and I just loved the way the relationship between these two developed. I loved every moment of this love story and I can’t wait to see what this new series is all about.
Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais as the narrators were exceptional and they made the experience of listening to this book so much better.

With Loving Romeo I entered Laura Pavlov’s world. And I’m planning to stay here for some time.
In small towns everyone knows everyone, every gossip, mistake, there is no chance to hide. Unless those with more power and influence are able to manipulate/change outcomes in their favour, even if that means to hurt innocent ones. It’s not forgotten easily.
When Demi comes back to Magnolia Falls and opens her coffee shop next to Romeo’s boxing gym, she cannot understand the unwelcome treatment and cold shoulders given her by neighbour. Tension between them is only growing, as Romeo in the beginning doesn’t feel like disclosing what her family did to him, or finding out if she had participated/had knowledge of it. Despite obvious mutual attraction, they decided to keep each other at arm's length,but as the time passed and an unexpected event happened, they got drawn to each other more with increased strength. Question is will they be able to let all the walls around them fall, let them discover themselves and overcome painful truths hidden by those that are supposed to protect and support them…
Loving Romeo is book 1 in Magnolia Falls series, small town, enemies to lovers, bad boy - good girl, forbidden romance. All wrapped around boxing, family dirty secrets and finding more that initially were looking for. I laughed, had sad moments, and thanks to great narration I felt all the emotions. Side characters were as captivating as Romeo and Demi, and I’m ready to read the remaining gang books.

A heartwarming new series!
A brilliant performance from both narrators, they were the perfect Romeo and Demi!
I’m already in love with the small town of Magnolia Falls but I do miss Cottonwood Cove dearly (why am I acting like these are real places and people?? Maybe it’s because Laura Pavlov does such an amazing job of getting you hooked on her characters and their stories) Lincoln and Brinkley do have a cameo in this book so if you’ve read the Cottonwood Cove series you’ll know who they are and if you don’t this is your excuse to read it.
This was just a heartwarming story that had me rooting for both characters from the start! They have their own struggles and past events have shaped who they currently are. Romeo and Demi have their differences but work together to overcome this by creating a great bond as friends and then eventually lovers. I loved their communication, although there wasn’t the best at the start it actually made sense why it took time for both to open up to one another.
Laura is amazing at creating stories that almost play out like a TV show, she can pack in a great mixture of drama, romance and a dose of humour which lead to swoon-worthy romances like this one!

I LOVED IT!!!
*AUDIOBOOK REVIEW* This book has completely consumed me from the very beginning. I don’t know how the author does it.
Laura Pavlov does small-town romance so well. It’s pure perfection. I cannot get enough. I only discovered her books in 2023 and the moment I’d finished the first book I read of hers, I went and devoured her entire backlist so I was up to date and waiting patiently for this new series and my oh my god, what a great start to what promises to be an incredible series!
In Loving Romeo, you have Demi and Romeo. They are opposite attract. Romeo is a boxer, he owns the local gym and his past is a little rough Demi is from a wealthy family and is known as a good girl.
Demi is returning home after graduating and she buys a coffee shop right next door to Romeo’s gym. Romeo is anything but nice to her in the beginning because her family did something in his past.
It doesn’t take long for them to run into each other and start spending time together and then their attraction grows and when they fall, they fall hard for each other. These two were perfect together. I couldn’t help but fall in love with them.
I can’t recommend this book enough!!

They get off to a Rocky start
Laura Pavlov writes small town romances so well, so I wasn't surprised this new book was good!
Romeo's an ex boxer turned gym owner and he hates her family. The question is why and what will happen when his side of the story comes out?
Demi is a trust fund baby turned coffee shop owner who has no idea why the guy next door hates her so much, or why she seems so drawn to him.
When secrets are revealed, will they make it? Can Romeo win the fight and love of his life? Dive in and find out!
Ps, I can't wait to see how Beefcake grows in this series. He's adorably hilarious.
If you like the Rocky films, you're going to love this story!
Samantha Brentmoor's narration was brilliant but Connor Crais sounded a little bored until I sped it up a little.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this series!

Romeo Knight........yes please!!!!!!
I am so glad to have gotten to dive back into another beautiful, small town romance by the ever talented 𝙻𝚊𝚞𝚛𝚊 𝙿𝚊𝚟𝚕𝚘𝚟. She has once again chiseled beautiful characters, added banter & found families & created the best start to a new series & I am so glad I was here for it!
Let's talk Romeo Knight. I absolutely loved him! He was chiseled perfectly and I fell hard, and fast, for him in this story! When he is with Demi.....at first, he didn't want to like her....but, the sparks of chemistry was out of this world & there was no denying 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 feelings!
Demi Crawford. She was beautifully done! I loved her sunshine self, and her story and how Romeo's family just took to her! It wasn't easy, but they found a rhythm together and their story was absolutely awesome!
𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑟 𝐶𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑠. Is there a character that that man can not bring to life in the best of ways? No, no I don't think so. His performance of bringing Romeo to life was magnificent. And, 𝑆𝑎𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑡ℎ𝑎 𝐵𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑚𝑜𝑜𝑟. She is one of my top female narrators and she nailed Demi perfectly! I loved how her voice flowed! Together, they breathed life into these gorgeous characters!
I definitely recommend this one & look forward to listening to the next 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 books!

Outstanding Story & Listen🎧Engaging & Heartfelt!
Yes! A brand new series by one of my favorite authors, Laura Pavlov, and not only did I love this first book, but I am loving this new world she created and the amazing characters that were introduced and am looking forward to getting their stories, too. This first book of the “Magnolia Falls” series, a small town, enemies-to-lovers, sports romance, is Demi Crawford and Romeo Knight’s story. Demi is from one of the richest families in Magnolia Falls and the most affluent, but she is not living off her family’s wealth when she moves back to town after college, opens her own business, a coffee shop. Her coffee shop will feature different drinks and health options. There is an apartment above the shop for her to live, despite her family not wanting to come live with them instead of in town. As a good business practice and to be friendly with her neighboring store owners, she offered them an introductory free coffee. Romeo owns the gym next to the coffee shop, he was a history with the Crawfords and it did not thrill him to learn a Crawford was going to be his new neighbor. So let’s just say their first interaction was not a good one. He was cold and rude to Demi and she did not know why. The two can not help but run into each other since they are neighbors, but she gives as good as she gets with Romeo and his attitude. He eventually lightens up, realizes she had nothing to do with what her family did to him and his friend, River. The chemistry between these two was undeniable, and it was great to watch their relationship and feelings for each other grow. Romeo’s father was a boxer, and the gym was originally his. Romeo had done some boxing in the past and he was called out by another boxer trying to get him back in the ring. His core group of friends were amazing and so was the camaraderie amongst them, their texting conversations were quite entertaining and so was his friend’s son Cutler or picks his own title name “Beefcake”, that boy was hilarious and a real heart and scene stealer. Ms. Pavlov is a gifted author who knows how to grab her readers and audiobook listener’s attention and captivate it the entire time. This story has a perfect balance of drama, angst, lots of heartfelt emotions and a wonderful romance, along with small town charm, and heartwarming friendships. As always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Laura Pavlov, thank you for another exceptional story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧And for the exceptional narration, Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais are the perfect cast to bring these characters to life. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the character would sound. Brentmoor is absolutely amazing as Demi, grasping all sides of her personality, her strength and determination, too. Crais did the same as Romeo and was just as amazing. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters and handling the witty and back-and-forth dialogue naturally and with ease. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances this story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.
