About this listen
Nico
They say you don’t know what you’ve lost until it’s gone, but that wasn’t true. I knew exactly how devastating it would be to lose Sofia, and I did it anyway.
She doesn’t think I have the right to walk back into her life. Too bad. I’m not the same playground protector she grew up with. I’ve grown into a hardened, selfish man, and her tears won’t deter me. Now that I’ve had a taste of her, I can’t get enough. I want to burry myself inside her - cage her in my arms and never let her go.
Sofia slipped through my fingers once before, and I won’t let it happen again.
Sofia
Nico was the solid ground that kept my life from falling into chaos...until that ground slipped out from beneath me.
He didn’t just break my heart, he destroyed it.
That was seven years ago. Seven long, life-altering years. Now, he’s come back trying to pick up where we left off, acting as if nothing has changed. He’s in for a surprise because I’m not that same little girl he left behind. He thinks he can bully his way back into my life, but he doesn’t have any clue what he’s up against.
Once Nico was gone, this little ladybug sprouted wings and grew teeth - she cast webs and made new friends while she hid in the shadows, nursing her heartache. Angelic Sofia became exactly what she was meant to be - a Genovese. In the Genovese family, our spines are tempered steel, and secrets run through our veins like blood.
The big bad wolf can huff and puff all he wants, but he’ll never get inside these walls.

Sofia and Nico
Never Truth, the second book in The Five Families series and after both reading and listening to the first book I couldn't wait to listen to this one. What a well-written moving fantastic mafia romance this was! The storyline had me engaged throughout. It was a rollercoaster ride full drama, suspense, angst, conflict, tragedy, secrets. It also had many twists and turns I didn't see coming but most importantly there was love and romance.
Sofia and Nico are wonderfully well-drawn captivating characters with a palpable connection as well as off-the-charts chemistry, they had a real feel to them and I so wanted them to have a future together. Their past childhood friendship has grown, deepened and turned into a deep and abiding love, so this is not just a mafia story it's also a second chance one.
The dual narration by Ava Erickson and Wen Ross is outstanding and could not be improved upon. The characters' personalities and emotions were brought to life beautifully, you could feel the desire and love Sofia and Nico felt for each other. I don't think anyone could have imbued Jill Ramsower's work with more life. Excellent work by the author and narrators. This is the second book in The Five Families Series but each book can be read as a standalone.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

great listen
I thoroughly enjoyed this 2nd chance romance between high school sweet hearts Sophia and Nico. Not even the Mafia or the Bratva could keep them apart.Their love was true and real and sizzled up the pages. The author developed great characters with great chemistry and the narrators bought those characters to life. Awesome read.

More, please
Never Truth, the second book in The Five Families series, is a fantastic mafia romance. The storyline is satisfying and wholly engaging, filled with conflict, tragedy, secrets, suspense romance, twists, and turns. The characters, Sofia and Nico, are captivating with off-the-charts chemistry, they drew me in from the start. I love that they had a past, childhood friendship that grew into love, giving the story a second chance quality.
Outstanding dual narration by Ava Erickson and Wen Ross. Their performance embodies the characters' personalities and emotions, portraying their desire and want for each other, breathing life into Ramsower's words. Overall, Never Truth is well-written with quality plot and narration, which I strongly recommend. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook, and my unbiased review is voluntarily given.

Second Chance Mafia Romance
Never Truth by Jill Ramsower is a mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Ava Erickson and Wen Ross. This is the second book in The Five Families Series but each book can be read as a standalone.
This is the second book of Jill’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I cannot wait until the third book in the series Blood Always is released on audible.
Ava and Wen did an amazing job on the narration. They really know how to bring a story to life.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mafia romances or second chance romances.

Suspenseful mafia romance
NEVER TRUTH is the second book in the FIVE FAMILY series by Jill Ramsower, who has been my latest mafia romance discovery. And like with the first book she got me hook, line and sinker with this one as well. Fast-paced, well-written and with fantastic world building to boot and great character development for our couple, Sofia Genovese and Nico Conti, who have first met when they were kids. Now, as adults, they share a chemistry that seeps through the pages, it’s a palpable and obvious thing, the constant back and forth as much addictive as it had me wanting to pull my hair out, lol. This book not only delivers in the romance department, but when it comes to intrigue, suspense, drama, conflict and secrets as well. An intense package and everything I’ve come to crave from a good mafia romance. The audio was brought to life in dual narration by Ava Erickson and Wen Ross, who both do a tremendous job in bringing the characters and their feelings to life, adding another layer to the experience of this story. I love that the author chose a different couple of narrators for every instalment of the series so far! Now onto book three, I cannot wait to dive in!

Second Chance Perfection
Sofia is an artist, she wears many hats, and has a façade that can rival the best of them.
Nico had to make quite a few tough choices early on in life that changed everything, but sometimes life can be a rude SOB, you gotta roll with the punches and do what is necessary to survive.
These two have chemistry that is palpable. It is obvious and addicting. I loved it, and I loved the way the story plays out. The push and pull is perfection. I loved this book so hard. I also really loved the way the events played out. These books are so good, they are all consuming. I couldn't walk away until it was over. This is book 2 in The Five Families. The mystery and the angst are so good and keep you wondering the whole time. I can't wait to see what happens in book 3!
Ava Erickson and Wen Ross did a phenomenal job! The emotions were on point and they made me feel as if I was in the book more than just listening to it. I felt like I was a part of the story and loved it!

A solid mafia story from a new to me author
**An complimentary audio copy of this book was provided by the author and I volunteered to leave an honest review. All opinions are my own**
Nico and Sofia were childhood sweethearts. Circumstances disallowed them to explore this relationship. But when the safety of Sofia is at risk, Nico is brought back into her orbit, and sparks surely do fly.
This is the second in the Five Familes Series but can be read as a standalone which is what I did. Although on reflection, I wish I had read the first book first. It didn't colour my reading experience, but I was lacking background on side characters and general world building information which might have enhanced this reading experience.
Ava Erickson and Wen Ross were extremely engaging narrators.
This was my first book by this author and I was extremely pleased with my reading experience.

A Terrific, Heartfelt Mafia Romance! Great Listen!
I loved this book, it is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. I am not sure how this is my first book by Jill Ramsower, I just know it will not be my last. She is a gifted author who has a great ability to draw her reader and/or audiobook listener into her story and make them feel like they are right along side the characters and are given an inside view of their lives. Great character and world development, being the mafia world and the dynamics and workings within. The characters are realistic and easy to relate to, I adored the two leads, Sofia Genovese and Nico Conti, I loved how they first met as kids and then became good friends which lead to more. While Sofia grew up the daughter of a mob boss she was kept in the dark about it. Nico’s father was involved in that world as well and selfishly wound up dragging Nico into it as well. Then Nico broker Sofia’s heart. Years later Nico wound up climbing the ladder in the Mafia family and because he had history with Sofia her father assigned him to protect her not knowing the extent of their history or why they no longer talked. After seeing her again he realized he still wanted Sofia but after all he did would she ever want him again. He would have to win her back even if it means reveal his secrets but he was not the only one with secrets. I loved how everything plays out in this book, there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, some thrilling & suspenseful moment, heartfelt ones and a second chance romance. Jill Ramsower, thank you for this great story, I am looking forward to checking out more of your work
Ava Erickson and Wen Ross are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They do an amazing job portraying the characters, giving each their own voice and personality, humanizing them and bringing them to life. You could hear how much heart each put into their work as they captured the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

Not so Divine Comedy
Ava Erickson's flat grating little girl voice was not who I'd've chosen for this role, until you find out Sofia's a soul damaged one dimensional virgin. Wen Ross as always is perfection in his phrasing and tone; he brought this book up a zillion notches from a very poor relation to Book 1. He's the only reason I continued past 2hrs. His character; Nico is another flat almost cardboard cutout with no depth or breadth. Even the bedroom scenes lack passion.
I did not like the twoing and frowing flashbacks from then to now. Who the hell remembers their days at kindergarten? There was none of the clever passionate banter like in Book 1. There was none of the intrigue and pace of book 1.
The only thing really positive about this book is the cover picture. It's hard to reconcile that the author of Book 1 actually wrote Book 2.
A POOR FOLLOW UP TO BOOK 1.
