Summary

2020 revised and expanded edition of Neanderthal Seeks Human and Neanderthal Marries Human from the Knitting in the City Series

Neanderthal Seeks Human, Book 1 in the Knitting in the City Series

There are three things you need to know about Janie Morris: 1) She is incapable of engaging in a conversation without volunteering TMTI (Too Much Trivial Information), especially when she is unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her more than Quinn Sullivan, and 3) She doesn't know how to knit.

After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store.

To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan - aka Sir McHotpants - witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn to make her an offer she can't refuse.

New York Times best-selling author Penny Reid’s debut novel!

Neanderthal Seeks Human is book 1 one in the Knitting in the City series. Each book is a standalone, contemporary romantic comedy novel, and follows the misadventures and exploits of seven friends in Chicago, all members of the same knitting group.

Neanderthal Marries Human, Book 1.5 in the Knitting in the City Series

There are three things you should know about Quinn Sullivan: 1) He is madly in love with Janie Morris, 2) He’s not above playing dirty to get what (or who) he wants, and 3) He doesn’t know how to knit.

After just five months of dating Janie, Quinn - former Wendell and unapologetic autocrat - is ready to propose marriage. In fact, he’s more than ready. If it were up to Quinn, he would efficiently propose, marry, and beget Janie with child all in the same day - thereby avoiding the drama and angst that accompanies the four stages of pre-matrimony: Engagement, meeting the parents, bachelor/bachelorette party, and overblown, superfluous wedding day traditions.

But Janie, much to Quinn’s dismay, tosses a wrench in his efficacious endeavors and challenges him to prove his devotion by going through the matrimonial motions, no matter how minute and mundane.

Will Quinn last until the wedding day? Or will he yield to his tyrant impulses?

This book is not a standalone. It is the sequel to Neanderthal Seeks Human, and is book #1.5 in the Knitting in the City series.

Thank you for writing these hilarious books. I was laughing out loud so much. It is brilliant and brilliantly narrated by Jennifer Grace and Sebastian York. I was really thrilled with Jennifer Grace so I am eager to hear more of her stuff.

Oh dear

Originally I read the complete Knitting in the City series and throughly enjoyed them. This time I decided Audio was the way to go, that was a mistake. This narrator managed to make her sound like an immature, bratty 15 year old. Someone a mature man of any social class would quickly tire of let alone a successful businessman. Additionally the whole HEA was totally unbelievably and frankly unacceptable. If you want to be preached too (don’t open a door for me, stomp stomp .. don’t pull the chair out for me, stomp stomp. I am woman hear me roar) and think that women should always get their own way, then you’ll love it

loved it

I was surprised how much I liked this book, I've not had any books from this author before.

The main male character Quinn reminds me a lot of Mr Grey from a certain shades of book, Handsome, rich, that bit controlling but in a good way thing but without the kink and prolonged explicit scenes.(there are still some be warned)
Janey was written perfectly imo, I think about random things like the origin of words etc but sadly I'm not a genius like her or model looking lol but I still find it great how many of my weird musings were represented in a book

What I really liked about this book was how well it was written, there's none of the frustrating hair pulling 'misunderstandings' that keep the story going, rather they act like adults and communicate any hurdles which I found very refreshing personally, the story kept me hooked throughout without any of that nonsense . some things he says and thinks did have me rolling my eyes a bit when in my opinion he was crossing some lines to the chauvinistic but didn't really detract from the story.

The friendship between the women in the story was also great, the bond and how they are there for each other without being threatened or jealous etc.

I wish more of these were in together so I can listen to 2 books back to back, I will definitely listen to the next, I hope its as good as this!
