Irritating narration

I’m enjoying the story but, as with the first in this series, The narration is sometimes distracting - some strange pronunciations and inflections, and it sometimes seems that the narrator is just reading words with no appreciation of the context. I hate to criticise, but when listening to a book the narrator is as important to me as the plot itself.

Good stories poorly read.

As with other books in this series I much enjoyed the story, but was aware constantly of the poor reading. Narrator is very one note, with irritating mispronunciation of simple words and terms, from time to time.

Not brilliant

A good story - but really the narration is by no means the best. I will continue the series for now...

A great piece of writing.

I hope I can get through some of my backlog of books so I can buy more of these. it's great to find a 'new to me' series of books to get my teeth into. A most enjoyable, action packed, listen. Brilliantly performed.

Loved this

Enjoyable and credible. I agree with previous reviewer: it was marred by a poor narrator making basic mispronunciations, a rushed and monotonous interpretation at times.

experience ruined by poor narration

Sadly, I had to abandon this because I found the narrator’s voice intensely irritating. The story itself was all right but the narrator’s delivery was flat. She just droned on and on with few pauses and very little variation in tone and pace. A real pity. It sounded as if she just wanted to get through it as. quickly as possible. I will never knowingly listen to this narrator again.
