About this listen
I have a confession.
I hate bachelorette parties.
A night of awkward dancing, penis-shaped straws and being told “you're next, Kaitlyn!”
Even worse: It's hosted at a super swanky Miami club where I stick out like a sore thumb.
Couldn’t get any worse, right?
Enter Mr. Tall, Dark and I-didn’t-know-they-made-people-this-gorgeous.
Grump supreme. His scowl has a scowl.
Especially after I knock a drink onto a VIP and myself.
He must be the manager of the club because he has keys to the penthouse above it.
A penthouse he offers to let me change clothes in.
A penthouse we screw all over.
Then, he gets a call and kicks me out. Jerk.
Told you it got worse.
Ready for worser?
First day at my new job as a nanny and Mr. Grump is my boss.
James Morris.
Billionaire club owner, deal maker, and first grade bosshole—if the tabloids are to be believed.
Also a single dad to an adorable daughter who needs my help.
But there's no way I can take this job—every time I look at him, I’m back in that penthouse.
And from the way his jaw clenches when he looks at me, he’s thinking the same.
Then he tells me why this has to work. Why he needs me. Why I can’t say no.
New confession?
I hate my boss.

Mr Grump
As an avid reader when I read I visualise the characters and also assign them voices. That can make it difficult when I then go on to listen to audiobooks if the voices don’t match with the characters my mind has created, however I really enjoyed this book as an audio book and felt it was well cast as both the male and female voice actors worked well and complemented each other. I felt they portrayed the emotion and thoughts and feelings perfectly making for a believable story.
This is the story of James and Kaitlyn. James is a rich and powerful man in the local area - celebrity almost. His daughter is the most important thing to him but due to James' status she has suffered past trauma having been kidnapped and held to ransom by her ex Nanny. This has led her to be withdrawn, agoraphobic and to have panic attacks. In order to help his daughter James hires a professional - Kaitlyn.
After a chance encounter of the two at the beginning of the book we learn that the two main characters actually have an interlinked life as Kaitlyn’s sister is marrying one of James’ friends however they’ve not met each other before and Kaitlyn isn’t a fan of nights out, clubs or celebrity so she has no idea who James is when she meets him on her sisters hen night, which is refreshing for James and they spend a short passionate moment together before he chucks her out of his apartment. When she turns up to start working at his home with his daughter he’s suspicious and she’s shocked but they soon put paid to that and focus on what’s most important - Harper.
Reading about Katilyn working with Harper and the positive effect made it clear that the author had done some research into child psychology and trauma and it really added to the story making it feel much more real and believable. It was also understandable why James and Kaitlyn were drawn to each other as the story progressed due to their common interest of caring for Harper.
Unfortunately both Kaitlyn and James have previous trauma and trust issues too and when there is a security breach James allows his past experience to make a jerk judgement and he destroys his relationship with Kaitlyn. I could really feel the heartache of Kaitlyn and so desperately wanted James to see sense and eventually he did but I felt there could have been a little bit more grovelling in there for the heartache he caused even though the dual POV of the book letting us into his thoughts made his actions understandable.
An enjoyable book which is heavy on the plot and full of angst.

Sweet romance!
This is the first book in the Billionaire Bossholes Series, a Contemporary Romance. I read it, and loved it. The audiobook version is great! Kaitlyn and James's story is engaging, sweet, and emotional, filled with drama, miscommunication, and twists and turns. Kaitlyn is kind and supportive. James, a single Dad, is handsome, grumpy, protective, and caring. His daughter Harper is so cute! I liked the instant connection between Kaitlyn and Harper. Lexi Evans and Logan Anare did an excellent job bringing this story to life. Lexi's child voice is amazing! I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I hope that this is the future of dual narration!
The dual narration by Lexi Evans and Logan Anare is the absolute best format ever and I wish that all dual narration would be done in this manner. The performance/production alone encourages you to keep listening to the audiobook!
WHY?: Quite simply, they don’t just alternate between chapters. She does all of the narrative for her character (even if it’s within his chapter) and he does all of the narrative for his character. Additionally; she voices all of the female characters and he voices all of the male characters - it’s superb! THIS is how it should be done! You get a far superior and enjoyable listening experience. 10 Stars for that alone!
The story was interesting and detailed. The characters, interesting and you get to see the depth of each of them. The plot is cute and complicated, there’s a lot of misdirection, miscommunication and just plain devious. Harper, the daughter of Mr Grump (James), is the star of this novel and she’s beautifully portrayed by Lexi Evans! Kaitlyn, whilst great at her job (with children) is, quite frankly, rubbish with adults - even her own sister!
I guessed a few plot points, but not because they were glaringly obvious, just my suspicious nature. This is book 1 in the series. Book 2 is also in the Plus Catalogue, currently - Mr Jerk - so I’m definitely going to get it! This has been a wonderful listening experience for me. I hope that it’s the future of dual narration!

grumpy sunshine
A fantastic audiobook.
I loved listening to it the Narration by Logan Anare and Lex Evans is brilliant, they really out do them selves the emotions they project through their voices is incredible.
When Logan gets angry as James I think I jumped out of my skin it was so realistic..lol..
Both narators are superb.
Mr Grump by Leslie North is book 1 in this series and can be read as a stand alone.
James is a Billionaire and single dad to an adorable little girl Harper...But Harper is suffering from her mental health after a trauma she went through.
Kaitlyn is a child psychologist/Nanny and she is James's new employee to help his daughter....The problem with this senario is that they have met before...At Kaitlyn's sister Cassies bacherlorette party and they ended up spending a passionate night together.
So it is a total shock for them both when they now have to work professionally together to help Harper heal.
But James's family is very complicated and there are alot of problems with disgruntled grandparents and a troubled sister..It is more than Kaitlyn bargains for but she takes everything in her stride and falls in love with Harper and James too.
But James is so protective of his family,as his every move seems to be watched by the tabloids all the time his family and his behaviour are put under scrutiny...Someone is betraying him and leaking his affairs to the press...Who can he trust.?
Is Kaitlyn the woman he is falling for be involved in hurting his family.?
I honestly never guessed who it was there are so many suspects Leslie North does a great job in writing so many red herrings making you suspect all the wrong people.
This is such a detailed story that is so well thought out and very captivating...the audiobook flows beautifully and keeps you entertained throughout.
The Narrators are Excellent and the writing is perfect I loved it very enjoyable.
