About this listen
"I have nothing to offer a woman like Cora. Not what she deserves, yet...I want her anyway."
I never expected to meet the woman of my dreams in a coffee shop. Especially when she's a famous Hollywood actress and I'm nothing but an overworked, underpaid barista.
Only I already have someone special - my son. Providing for him and getting through college are my top priorities. Dating while juggling single fatherhood isn't.
Cora Bentley deserves a partner who can offer her the world. But the heart wants what it wants, and mine won't stop beating for hers.
I should walk away. It's what's best, even if she won't admit it. But I can't bring myself to do so. Not when she's everything I could ever want.
Not when she could be our one good thing.
One Good Thing is a single-dad opposites-attract stand-alone contemporary romance narrated by Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb.

Character driven and full of heart
Fair notice that I have been waiting anxiously for this book because I loved Cora from the 3 Ugly Guys books and i was so happy to receive a copy of the audiobook upon request. And this book celebrated her wonderful spirit and heart. I love when books have such amazing characters that I wish they were real so I could be friends with them. And Kacey Shea paired Cora with the perfect man for her- Issac, a barista, jack of many trades and single father is a sweetheart but one who is juggling so much, he's at his wit's end. They were wonderfully sweet together but had amazing chemistry and their relationship unfurled in a real way- the author showcased many of the obstacles I feel they may realistically have had to deal with given her superstar status and his home issues. I smiled for most of the book, teared up during a few chapters, and swooned for much of the book. The supporting cast, including some of my favorites from the Off-Track Records series, was great and overall, I know I'll be rereading/relistening to this book again.
Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb narrated the book and they were fantastic. Both had the perfect voices for the characters and they were able to play multiple characters flawlessly and infuse emotion consistent with the story. I really loved their narration, which further elevated an excellent story.

The strong yet delicate Cora…
I was so glad to be able to follow Cora’s story after listening to her ‘here and there’ in the Off Track Records series.
We always hear the story’s of the strong rich men, but what does happen with the strong rich women… This story beautifully portrayed Cora as a strong, successful yet down to earth and “normal” person.
I’m so glad Cora found love with Issac. Such passion, love and understanding. This was an emotional tail showing love and family are a strong combination
5* Perfection when it came to the narration. Tim and Lessa were the perfect combination

Swoonnnnnn!!!
Kacey Shea is a master at stealing my heart. Each book I know it's my favorite, but this one is really special. Featuring Cora, who we met in the Off the Tracks series, she is getting her coffee from the good looking, tattooed barista. There is definitely chemistry, and after a night of quick passion, the two are destined for love. Or are they? Cora is building her career, working to become the best at her craft. Isaac is a jack of all trades and a single dad just trying to keep his head above water. Can they possibly find a way to have a relationship? From start to finish I was completely invested in this couple. I love Cora. She may be an actress in the limelight, but she is down to earth in her life. She sees the good in people and with patience and love gives of herself. Isaac is impossible not to love. He is hard working, responsible and his love for his son just made me melt. Shea also writes about relevant issues, dealing with autism both as a child and adult. Her ability to create awareness as we enjoy these characters is a tribute to her writing. This is going in my top listens of the year.
Her casting of Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb could not have been chosen better. These characters are so authentic and the narration reflects it. Paige comes in as Isaac, who is passionate in all aspects of his life. Full of emotion, Isaac's feelings come through and steals your heart. Cora is strong, and compassionate. Each scene, Cora is that woman you want to know, and Lamb brings out that personality perfectly. I loved this team, their voices fit together well and made this a fantastic listen.

All the things
Single dad stories are my kryptonite and this one was no different. It hit me hard in the feels. Not only is it a single dad story but Isaac is struggling to make ends meet and his child has some underlying issues that come to light throughout the story. Enter Cora, a movie star, who seemingly has it all, yet spends so much time at the coffee place Isaac works at. After one hot night, they don’t see each other for a while. But once they reconnect it is all the things. I loved that Isaac was a man with real issues and real emotions and reactions. He doesn’t always do or say the right thing. And I loved that Cora didn’t back down, she fought for what she wanted. She accepted Isaac and his son as they were. Their story is beautiful and endearing.
There is one guy-wrenching scene that just had me all up in my emotions and crying and cursing. I’m sure anyone that has read or listened to it know what scene I mean. The performance was outstanding for it too.
I had to run to my book club lovelies to ask questions at one point due to country differences, and I needed to check the info. As I was surprised. That’s not on the author but how different countries operate. Not going to say any more on that as to not spoil it for anyone.
Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb were great for this story. Their voices complemented each other and the transition from one to the other wasn’t too jarring. Tim brought so much emotion to Isaac’s character that it shone through and made this one of my favourite performances by him. Lessa had the perfect voice to the sassy Cora.
The only slight issue I had with the audiobook was the lack of diversity for a diverse character. Otherwise, I thought it was a high quality audiobook.

A great story with great narraters!
One Good Thing is Cora and Isaac's story and what a amazingly addictive story it is!
I have been waiting for Cora's story ever since she first appeared in Kacey's Off Track Records series and her story was even better than I could of imagined!
Cora Bentley is Hollywood's sweetheart, at the top of her game, taking on the acting world with fire.
Isaac is a single dad to a sweet three year old called David and is struggling to balance many jobs to make sure him and David have everything they need.
Cora and Isaac meet when Isaac is working one of his many jobs as a barista in a coffee shop when Cora likes to visit late at night.
For weeks Cora visits and they spend all that time talking and making each other laugh. Until one night things get heated in the back room.
Interrupted by Isaac's boss, the pair part ways.
Every night Isaac waits for Cora to come back to the coffee shop. Sadly unbeknown to him Cora is in Brazil filming for her new film. Thinking she regretted what had happened between them. "You're Cora Bentley. I'm me. We don't even exist in the same world."
Imagine both their surprise when filming starts in LA and Isaac is there to look after the art.
Is this the chance they've been waiting for?
Will their differences and life styles be too much to overcome or will their differences make them even stronger?
Listen to One Good Thing to find out!
