About this listen
A new entry in the Monster Hunter Memoirs series.
Chloe Mendoza and her team from Monster Hunter International must seek out and destroy an ancient evil threatening Los Angeles at the height of Disco Fever.
Los Angeles: the 1970s.
Disco is king, and the nightclubs are full of young, beautiful people with Saturday night fever. From the Sunset Strip to Hollywood Boulevard, a new era is dawning. But below the glitz and glamor, a darkness lurks.
Chloe Mendoza knows darkness. She is a nagualii, a half-demon created by the gods of Central and South America, a daughter of the Court of Feathers, a group of demigods who ruled Mesoamerica before the Spanish arrived.
Now, she is a member of Monster Hunter International’s latest team, based in the LA Basin. Business is good in the City of Angels, but soon Chloe gets a message from the Court of Feathers, warning her of a Dark Master who is building up its power in the region. Whatever it is, it brings death and carnage with it.
Time to boogie.

Well worth the wait ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was slightly worried when I realised it was a female narrator, (after the whole MHI Guardian story being spoilt by bad pronunciations and such) HOWEVER my fears were unfounded and I enjoyed this immensely. Feeling like a Correia Fiend now hungry for more.
If you're already a MHI fan then you've got to get the book just to smile when the OG hunters names are mentioned and the hope that there'll be some popping up in the next installments.

Good, but needs something more
As with other MHI devotees, I'm starving for more from any source. As the first of a new MH Memoirs there are two high bars to pass, the standard of previous co-writer John Ringo and narrator Oliver Wyman. Still some way to go, but if Mr Cordova and the talented Miss Chavez keep work together, then Chloe Mendoza might end up being the new Jane Yellowrock. I'll keep listening to find out.

Needs a better narrator
The accents and the way she says certain words is terrible. When you have someone read most of the books and does a great job of reading the books I can't understand why you change
