About this listen

Long distance running is much like any other fitness training. If you want to improve, you need a good plan that has a progressive nature. If you are new to this game, you need a solid foundation to build on. Having a running program is not the only thing that you need. Sound advice and running tips should be taken from someone who has "walked the walk", or in this case, "ran the run".

Hi, my name is James Atkinson from jimshealthandmuscle.com. I'm a qualified fitness coach and personal trainer and I have a fair bit of running advice that I would like to share with you. When I was around 18 years old, I was a terrible runner! In fact, I failed the basic fitness test for army entrance on running alone, and I failed big time! Several years later, I was clearing 1.5 mile running circuits in eight minutes and 22 seconds and could easily run a marathon any day of the week! I would like to share my knowledge and training experiences with you.

If you are a beginner when it comes to running, this information will no doubt give you advice that will probably not have even crossed your mind before. If you are already a runner and are looking to make more progression, you are also in the right place. I know that it is easy to get stuck on a training plateau, so I have also added some information and training methods to this book that will help you leave the plateau behind.

Great Tips

Loved this audiobook, as I'm approaching a couple of marathons I thought I'd see if there was anything missing from my training. I certainly have helped myself with a lot of things in this book!

VI/blind athlete

I found this book to be great advice for any beginner wanting to start running. I particularly like the mention of running with a weighted vest, I have actually started myself doing that. I’m a keen runner so little tips you gave were fantastic. Like I said previously anyone starting out and wanting to run this is a great book. I am a visually impaired runner and will be doing my first ultra run next year, 2022. I will be definitely checking out your other books

life changer

loved the Ebook from Jim.
the struggles are really laid out simply and you just realise how you are not alone on this journey.
from 1 mile to record it on my Fitbit (nearly died)
to running half marathons on days off aswell as 2 X triathlons completed.
tonight is my first open water swim.
Jim.
Thankyou my man 😍👌

Great little listen if you’re about to do a challenge

Really enjoyed this. Just what I needed to hear before running my first marathon. Some handy hints and tips and best of all comes from someone who has been through the same journey. Would recommend.

Great tips

Lots of handy tips and tricks that I would have otherwise overlooked! It’s put together in a really easy way and the chapters are small and easy to digest.
