Amazing Mental Info!!!

First of all, I must say that my son will have author Blake Silverman and the information presented in this book to thank for his mother allowing him to continue playing sports! My son is an actor, but has gotten the sports bug and just finished a season of flag football, and looking forward to next season’s basketball and soccer. Sometimes I feel like “Do we have time for these sports and will it make a difference in his life?” After reading this book, I can answer a resounding YES!!!

There were so many amazing nuggets within this audiobook that truly encompass many areas of our lives. Whether it’s in sports or business, the principles laid out by the author are truly universal for overall success.

One quote I loved in particular is:
“If you live life with the same attitude as an athlete you will find success.” Oh my goodness, this is so true. The discipline and passion of an athlete are unparalleled. Just watching the Olympics will show that whatever these athletes are doing, it’s Working!! I also appreciated how the author encourages us to stop second guessing ourselves and learn to take risks! An essential quality in the sports world as well. Without risks, there will no success. No risk is sure failure.

The author Also states that we must challenge ourselves from not making excuses.
Making excuses holds us back from success. The author also states that nothing can hold back a determined individual. And “unstoppable” individual is one who establishes goals and achieves them. The author encourages us to have an “unstoppable” work ethic and attitude. When the author stated that “Fortune favors the bold” I literally wanted to take a moment of silence because this is the most true statement I’ve heard in a very long time.

Recently my son played in the second quarter of a game but did not play much in the first quarter. My first thought was, “Why isn’t the coach playing him more“?. The author states that in addition to going to the coach, the athlete must redirect the attitude of “Why am I not being played more” to one of “What can I do differently in order to have more time on the field”. Changing the statement alone shows more of a growth mindset.

Ok … moment of silence…

I give this book 4 thumbs up ! Using both hands and feet on this one! I’ll need to let my 9 year old listen to this so he’ll understand why Mother is changing her mind and allowing him to participate in sports next semester, even in spite of his busy schedule as a professional actor. Lol

Loved this!

Such a unique perspective to hear. I think this idea of how mental health and sports are connected is so important to talk about.

Being very focused on mental health, I was very curious to hear what this book had to say. I highly recommend this to anyone with kids in competitive sports, or if you are interested in overall tips and tricks for mental health. These could be applied to a ton of situations.

Great advice! Highly recommend!

Great Audiobook

This is a great audiobook filled with excellent content and tips, and a reminder of the vital importance of mind power. As a stroke survivor I enjoyed listening to this, and one can apply some of these principles to one's life generally. I played the audio for my sons too who are both big sports lovers and they said they also found the content valuable. I particularly resonated with the sections on routine and adaptability, but everything actually was super awesome! And fantastic narration too.

This talks about a vital truth

There's no question that the most successful athletes have very strong mindsets. We are all in the same position. Not that we are competing against others but the only true competitor is ourself, with ourself. Mind over matter. Thanks to the author for creating a book with these awesome reminders!

Motivational!

I absolutely loved listening to this book!

Although I don't strive to succeed in sports I do strive to succeed in many other areas of my life. I have been feeling down on life lately wondering how to be more successful, and the answer is mental toughness. This book has taught me so much about how to control my mind power in order to achieve the things that I want.

What I enjoyed the most about this book were the tips on how to stop distractions from sabotaging my progress. This is the area I have been struggling with the most. But not anymore!

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for inspiration and motivation in life.

Son actually liked it

I got this more for myself but tried to see if my son who's in sports would like it as well. He's just at that age deciding what he's really passionate about and I think this struck a chord with him as we listened on the way to practices. Great book

Learn to control the inner voice

Listening this book instantly allowed me to look inside and realize the issues I had that I never knew how to solve. The thing that spoke to me the most was the importance of focus. Being in the moment is something you hear a lot of successful people talk about and the instructions given in this book allow you to paint a vivid picture in your brain. I highly recommend this book to anyone who competes and feels stuck.

Success through Sports!

I never really understood the power of participating in sports until reading this audiobook. What an amazing resource for setting you up for success! When younger, I played baseball, football and soccer. Although I’m a decent athlete, I was never a superstar on any of the teams. After listening to this book and reflecting on my participation in sports as a child and teen, I now see how important it was to be involved because that helps create a mindset and goals for success. I highly recommend this book!

Inspiring

I bought this not for sports as I am not a sporty person! but for my workout! The title was calling me to buy it! Man this book taught me the importance of goals not only for my workout but generally in life. These days I have become a dangerous procrastinator you see and, a dreamer with no actions. I did not intend to fix myself with this book, but it did anyway!

In our minds, we create so many excuses to avoid achieving a goal. Amazing how this book pushed to change. I feel like a new person now!

As for the book’s context, I can only say One of the advantages of playing sports is that it makes you realize how capable you are and how persistent you can be!

I love this

This book is fantastic for anyone who need a boost of confidence and drive, particularly before a major game. I firmly think that sports require both physical and mental strength. It may absolutely affect the way you play if you're not in the appropriate frame of mind. This book does an excellent job of giving advice and pointers on how to create objectives for success and ensure that you're in the appropriate frame of mind.

Excellent listen!

I loved how this book talked so much about how your mental state has such a huge effect on your performance. When I was an athlete, I placed so much emphasis on my physical skills instead of getting my mind and thoughts in the right place. This book would have been so helpful to me during that time. However, although this book is for athletes there were so many great parallels to how a healthy mindset can also help you to thrive in business. I would definitely recommend to anyone seeking to level up in sports or in life in general.

Cultivate Me tap Strength

What a great read! I want my daughter to listen to this book as it outlines all the characteristics she can learn from playing sports!

I love sports but because of a different ability, I’m not able to play it. Even then, I have learned so much from the author.
“Figure out the goals and learn how to take a shot or take risks.” Aren’t we all here for a reason?
“Everyday is a challenge”. We get to make decisions each day! Do we give up when challenge face us or do we keep going?

Some of my favorite lines:
“If you fail, try again”

“Prioritize goal, you cannot do it all or you will not become great.”

“Have a reason behind everything you do.”

“Loss is an opportunity for lesson to be learned.”

“Allow yourself time for reflection.”

“Properly build yourself up.
Be confident in your choices.”

Listening to this book reminded me of the importance of preparing your mind and body and developing the ability to not make excuses.

Another important concept is to brainstorming ways on how to make things work instead of focusing on all the reasons why it won’t work.

I highly recommend this book not only for professional athletes but most especially for young athletes! It will definitely carve a path for their success!

A great listen to shift your mentality and start dominating your game!

I chose to listen to this book to give myself a leg up on the competition and to have a never quit mentality. This book is great for discovering the tools necessary to start excelling in whatever sport you play. I have played soccer for over 20 years and I have found that no matter how many times you mess up or fall down, you have to get back into the game and push harder because your team is relying on you. By taking the time to read this book you are taking the first steps to controlling your mind and changing the elements within your control and you will be able to begin visualizing and achieving that W.

Great book!

This book is great for those needing a boost of motivation and confidence, especially before a big game. I truly believe that when it comes to sports it’s not just physical, it’s also mental. If you’re not in the right mindset, it can definitely impact the way you play. This book does a great job by providing guidance and tips to make sure you’re in the right mindset and how to set goals for success. The book also shares that having a routine is also the key to success and I couldn’t agree more! Highly recommend!
