Summary

An achingly authentic and raw portrait of love, regret, and the life-altering impact of the relationships we hold closest to us, this YA best seller is perfect for fans of Kasie West, All the Bright Places, and Dear Evan Hansen.

If he had been with me, everything would have been different....

Autumn and Finn used to be inseparable. But then something changed. Or they changed. Now, they do their best to ignore each other.

Autumn has her boyfriend, Jamie, and her close-knit group of friends. And Finn has become that boy at school, the one everyone wants to be around.

That still doesn't stop the way Autumn feels every time she and Finn cross paths, and the growing, nagging thought that maybe things could have been different. Maybe they should be together.

But come August, things will change forever. And as time passes, Autumn will be forced to confront how else life might have been different if they had never parted ways....

Tragically Beautiful

I loved every moment of this book, the ending was so heartbreaking but amazingly written.

Anticlimactic

Given the length of this book the story gave a whole lot of nothing. I didn’t particularly feel any type of way about the characters. None of them had much depth if I’m being completely honest. The story was very slow paced and picked up towards the end of the book only for it to end in an anticlimactic way.

WHY.

Why did she do that?! Why couldn’t there be a happy ending? My heart is shattered yet full. Autumn and Finny deserved so much more

For younger listeners

Not crazy about this one. I think a young listener would appreciate the storyline better.

Sad

The book had a slow climax and a fast resolution. Broke my heart. Wish they could’ve been together forever.

Boring

Just filled with day to day trite, unoriginal thoughts. Kept thinking it would get better. Didn’t. Maybe some readers thought the ending was worth it, could have been a one chapter story.

Average

The storyline was average. I expected more from it because of all the reviews on tik tok for it being in a lot of peoples “Top Read” books. It was just kind of bland, honestly

This feels like a teen novel

I expected better writing, especially since it’s told from the viewpoint of a girl who is a writer and voracious reader. I was disappointed. The middle portion moves slowly and the end is too quick. I guessed what was going to happen before the story even revealed itself. The ending wasn’t surprising. I expected better.

Teenage angst

This book was just a lot of teenage drama but ended up being a pretty good love story! It’s a good read!
