About this listen

A Warhammer 40,000 Novel

The renegade leader of the Red Corsairs must adapt to an Imperium led by Roboute Guilliman, all while struggling to retain power in the face of dissension among his vicious followers.

Listen because...

See how the galaxy has changed for the Red Corsairs after the Great Rift, through the eyes of their infamous reaving leader—Huron Blackheart—who once preyed freely on a weakened Imperium.

The story:

Huron Blackheart is the lord of the Red Corsairs, master of the lawless Maelstrom and its piratical denizens—but oathbreakers and renegades can seldom rely on the loyalty of their followers. With the galaxy thrown into turmoil by the return of Roboute Guilliman, the former Tyrant of Badab faces a renewed Imperium and fresh challengers emerging within his own ranks. Huron must call on every trick he knows to stay in control—and alive. Yet even a warrior as ferocious and opportunistic as the Blood Reaver must be wary, for although there are many bargains he can strike, all power comes at a price....

Written by Mike Brooks. Narrated by Andrew Wincott. Running time 6 hours and 24 minutes.

Another absolute cracker from Mike Brooks!

One of the coolest Chaos characters in 40k finally gets his own book and it doesn't disappoint. Brooks has been putting out some great stories and this is no exception, with a great story that's easy to follow along to, plenty of action and some awesome characters.
The narrator did a great job with this too 🙂

Pretty good, but the narration elevated it to excellent

Story was good but a bit predictable. Andrew Wincott is an excellent narrator though. He nails Huron’s voice and the final laugh at the end is a nice touch.

Brilliant

As an individual who collects red corsairs and loves chaos in general, I would've hoped this book to be an amazing read and thankfully it was thank you for not letting me down with this one.

Heretic Buccaneers!

A fantastic novel establishing Huron's character and relationship with his expansive warband: Red Corsairs. Andrew Wincott also narrated the Night Lords Trilogy and this novel works as a wonderful addition to that story (would recommend reading after Blood Reaver). I highly recommend this novel.

Brilliant!

A very well written and excellently preformed story about one of the most intresting characters in 40k lote, I just wished that it could have been twice as long!

Huron for warmaster

Great listen for anyone who enjoys chaos, Huron is by far my favourite Chaos lord and this does him so much justice.

Adept!!!

Such a good book, this is my 20th warhammer book I’ve read this year and I’ve read some of the “must reads” so to speak and thoroughly enjoyed this.

This book has really made me enjoy the “bad guys” more than the imperium I must say.

I have a soft spot for the mechanics and the fact the A and B plot involved a fair amount of this back and forth perspective made my evening. The pay off is just sooo good!

Huron is playing a dangerous game.

I just loved it. The story gripped me almost at ones and it gave a very interesting perspective on the universe through the mind of Huron.
The other characters gave good contrast and the performance was fantastic, even if some characters was a little hard to tell apart sometimes.
And dont you dare skip the end credits! It made me grin from ear to ear!
