Summary
With the Builder threat behind them, the time has finally come for Jason and his team to hit the road.
Eager to get back to the adventuring he’s been longing for, Jason is excited to not be at the center of world-changing events. But before he goes, one last attempt to pull him into politics has him leaving Rimaros with a strong final impression.
With new places to visit and new people to meet, the remnants of recent events have scarred the land and left lingering dangers behind. It's a busy time for adventurers willing and able to fight with monsters. Threats that once loomed in the background start coming to the fore, and the team prepares to join the fight. Their angelic new adversaries are patient, powerful, and remorseless, using such unconscionable strategies that mass slaughter is only the beginning.
Jason is forced to confront that his growing power may give him more in common with his foes than his friends. While this opens a path to uncovering the methods and objectives of their enemies, it also brings him to their attention. To them, this makes him yet another tool to be used. But when conflict spills into epic battle, they'll be the latest to discover that challenging Jason Asano is a very bad idea.

The series doesn’t disappoint!
I’ve became so invested in the world and although it’s a litrpg I like that the worlds closer to a progression fantasy. I can’t wait to see how everything progresses at higher power levels! Even though there will be a huge He Who Fights with Monsters hole in my listening till the next book.

Well worth the wait
would highly recommend to fans of the series. if you're not familiar... what are you doing at book 9 :-P
I am getting sick of people complaining about recap this, same old that...
for those whom haven't listened, read the books back to back 5 times(so not me) a placeholder is much appreciated, so I was advised by family.
The book is exactly what it says on the tin: more of Jason's loony wits & adventures with the cast we know and love! at book 9 if you aren't for that.... then you're wasting your credits.
also, *SPOILER ALERT!!*
Jason now can create shadow clones and have honest to goodness Jedi powers??! 🤣

Continuously brilliant.
While I awaited this book's release, I thought it impossible to anticipate a book more. Turns out I was wrong; Book 9 has left with a new benchmark for hype - with full trust in Shirtaloon's ability to surpass expectations.
Also, nice to know that both Shirtaloon and Jason are fans of Pratchett.

I liked this book
Jason continues on his path of self discovery and he’s starting to find himself. The Messengers are good adversaries and I liked the fights that Gary, Tucker and Clive had with them. I’m looking forward to book 10.

a good book but less engaging than previous books
I really do love this series, characters and humour. this book covers a lot of time but in moments felt it didn't progress as much as other installments.
for those that love this series they will continue to enjoy but I understand how some may feel cheated after the earlier books had more things like progression and action.
