Summary
This shadow always follows his Sunshine.
Her life is a carefully crafted lie.
For years, I only watch my Sunshine from the shadows; my loyalty to the Bellandis demands nothing less. When her husband is killed, the path is clear for me to step in and claim her for myself.
I’ll give her a glimpse into the truth.
I give Calla and her kids one year to grieve their loss. When the year is over, I pluck them from the grey world she clings to and insert them into the vivid color of my Bellandi life.
Even when it hurts, and she rails against me.
Rising tensions in my world threaten to steal her away from me, but I won’t let anyone take what is mine. Instead, I’ll demand every piece of her: her heart, her body, her soul.
And I won’t stop until I’ve taken everything.
Grieved Loss is a full-length standalone novel, but the series presents a better listening experience when following the suggested listening order. This series contains dark elements, including an over-the-top antihero who does as he pleases. Please listen at your own discretion.

Was super excited for this but now just forcing my way through.
First of all I just want to say how much I love this author. I had read the previous books in this series but decided to buy the audio version of this book since I had been looking forward to it for so long. My mistake. I think I would have enjoyed the story more if I had just stuck to reading it. The male narrator was great (though a little cringe worthy during *certain* scenes) but overall I enjoyed his parts. My major issue stems from the female narrator. Her voice makes it sound like EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE ends in a question. It’s maddening! Due to this, it’s making it hard to determine if the female lead character is really such a whiny person or if that’s just how it’s being interpreted due to the narrator. I am suffering through the last few hours of this book since I spent money on it but if this female narrator is set to be the lead for all books in this series I don’t think I will waste more money on the audiobooks. Such a shame.
