Summary

The tower has fallen. Banners fly. War brews in the rubble.

Felix Nevarre, slayer of the Ravager King and destroyer of Domains, isn't going down without a fight. The Guild Tower has fallen, and Haarwatch has been split into factions vying for supremacy, and the people despair as monsters overrun the city.

Bloody battle is waged through the streets, but Felix’s power has grown—his core stuffed full with the spoils of his victory—and he's looking to put it to use. When the Inquisition advances its grip on the city and waves of monsters attack, he pushes back.

A new faction rises, gathering beneath Felix's banner those that are too weak for the Guilders, or too faithless for the Redcloaks. The goal of this faction isn’t domination, but survival. In their midst, a dangerous idea begins to brew. It sings in the Spirit and ignites the Mind, while the Body trembles with bated breath. A blue flame blazes away in the hearts of the fearful, leaving behind only hope....

And Fury.

👉😊💨

Why is Felix soooooo slow in the uptake. He is so god damn naive, Its infuryating!!!...

I kinda like the series, but Felix just seems dull in the head sometimes. Especially when it come to forsight of his own issues/corruption of the maws power.

Love the narrator ❤

Lack of direction

There seems to be a lack of focus on the dangers around innocent civilians and a lot of focus on inner emotions and training… still early but not impressed with the content early in

Great but way too much at the same time

I really like this series. The only thing that’s needs to be tuned is the sheer slim margin of victory for almost every single real fight. Every battle can’t be this intense or something is going to lose potency. Some of the villains only become threats for plot’s sake. The always manage to pop up at the exact right time, or land/dodge the right blow or gain an advantage in some crazy twist. It works in small doses but the author is way too liberal here (our heroes included). How Felix has any nerve endings to remotely feel pain at this point is beyond me he’s been through more pain, near death & actual death than any character in the history of books(maybe except the guy in Silver Fox & the Western Hero). Also the scaling is off meaning his wins/gains versus his actual fighting potential. Some of what he’s overcome and grown from in scale only leads to him barely winning fights. He’s literally overcome primodials and a God how is he being troubled by any regular combatant? Why does he still range weaker in instances than his friends? If we want to chalk it up to “skill” why aren’t they finishing the big fights instead. They usually end up out of the fight rather quickly but yet Felix manages to look like a amateur everytime they spare HOW? Please don’t let any of that detract you though GET THIS BOOK it’s a well crafted story just needs a little love with power scaling.

I'm FURY'ously awaiting the next book

Favorite book from the series so far. The combat/battle scenes in the towards the end of the book are amazing. Additionally, the way he upgrades his character are intriguing and exciting.

Highly recommend this series.

Mc went from OP to meh

The first 3 books Felix seems to be be dominating due to super high stats and tons of skills... now hes struggling against his friends who arent stat monsters like him. It just feels like the author needed to keep him week so his friends could be involved....

b*******

the system seems to be against the main character and and you break the rules so you can extend your book my recommendation is to not just focus on one f****** plot point I mean you could do more you don't have to have a 23-hour book just for one story arc you could do more. she used athoity she should not be able to use really dude

So good

This book was just as good as the other ones, I honestly think this book was better then the previous ones. I think book four might be the best so far. I really enjoyed the pacing in this sequel, and how the sequel concluded.

Travis did amazing with this book, he always does good with his books so it's not surprise to me. This book was performed so well, Travis certainly deserves a 5 star, I'd even give him a 6 if it was possible. Travis fits this book so well it's crazy, even if I tried I couldn't find a better narrator for this book.

I loved how strong he got in this book, one of the main reasons I love this series so much is because of the progression. Nicoli really did good with that.

I also like how he didn't go off with the plot in this book, I feel there was some filler, but overall I felt the story was progressing and we were getting somewhere.

I don't really see a change in characters, I do think Felix has some character development in this book, but most of the side characters are the same.

I'm not gonna go in much detail with the plot, but some of the plot twists in the story are just super good. I honestly really loved the plot in this book, in my opinion it was intriguing and interesting.

Overall, I love this series with a passion. I personally this book is the best in the series so far, and I recommend it with a smile on my face.

About as intereseting as an instruction manual

The opening sequence of the firset book was like watching a movie in my mind. The first book was great. The second was kind of weird but good. The third was ...not reallyi my speed, but it was well-written. This book? It's basically the author trying to explain everything. I just kept asking myself 'what was the point of the last hour?' Books are supposed to paint a picture, not go into boring technical details. Also - if I wanted to join a new-age religion, I'd go.. join a new-age religion. And, finally - how did anybody ever get born in this city since pretty much everybody is gay? Just.. why? I get that it's cool to be woke right now. And I'm not hating on gay people. But it's just so obvious that virtue signalling was a major motiviation for the author in this book. Here's hoping the next one will be better. I'll give it a try.. but wow, this one was bad.

over and over

I have an hour left and am just waiting to find out what happens because I've been stuck in the longest fight scene ever... the entire book. When it wasn't a fight chapter then that's all they talked about. how many times can the MC have the exact same fight (from his side at least) same four skills same way of ending the fight. seriously I've skipped over 30min of this book simply because the fight was so monotonous not feeling like I missed a thing. this might be my last book. I do like the reader though.

These are getting harder to read.

After I finished reading this I realized that I did not enjoy it very much. Book one was amazing and I guess that's why I continue with this series. I was loving reading about a character who fought with lightning, acid, and fists. For a while there I thought the author was going for a sort of monk build which I was very excited for, but I don't think we will ever go back to that with all this monster transformation stuff. I might give the next book a try but I will probably stop there.

Review

I really tried to get into the series but for some strange reason it was just not working for me. There is no difference between the main character from book one all the way to this novel. No character growth. There was an interesting line in this audiobook where the character stated that he’s doing the same things over and over again, and still continue to do the same things over and over again🤦‍♂️. I’m not sure if it’s the author making fun of his reader🤷‍♂️. You’re either going to love this audio series or hate it. For me this is where the journey ends.
