Summary

It is 1956. Freddy and Polly have never minded helping their genius father with his experiments. Even when that means being put into cryonic suspension having their hearts frozen....

Now it is 2009. Ben and Rachel have resigned themselves to a long, dull summer when they find the hidden underground vault in the garden and inside it two frozen figures, a boy and a girl....

Can Polly and Freddy adapt to the 21st century? Will their bodies survive having been in suspension for so long? And what happened to their father - and why did he leave them frozen in time?

A great adventure

Frozen in Time is brilliant. It's like an Enid Blyton Famous Five story, only with 3 of the 5 having been catapulted into the modern world from the 1950s after being released from a cryogenic chamber buried in the garden. Twenty-first century Ben and Rachel get to meet their Great Aunt and Uncle (and their dog) and they all find themselves thrown into an adventure. There is a genuinely suspenseful plot and there are plenty of laughs and thought-provoking moments when 1950s Freddy and Polly are learning about the modern world. A really clever and enjoyable story for all ages.

Fantastic

I really enjoyed this book. It was refreshing to listen to a book that took me back to my youth. Listening to something better than the world and books of today. Really worth a listen the narrator really had me hooked. Doing all the different voices for the characters

It is a great adventure and totally believable even if it is far fetched.

absolutely super! !!!

As an adult I fancied listening to something different from the normal grown up heavy stuff. This was perfect for me to listen to whilst running and dog walking. A very engaging storyline with characters one could warm to. loved the 50s references and how the characters impacted on one another. I have bought some more ali sparkes books and am looking forward to my next run!

Great concept, good story

It's a bit like a famous five adventure story, I felt it was a bit slow to start but it kept me wanting to listen to more. Great concept and exciting story, well worth a listen!
