With a main character who will stay with me a long time, Lisa Thompson has written a funny, poignant, totally absorbing story about resilience, empathy and overcoming hardship while solving a gripping mystery.

A modern classic, full of heart and hope.

Great gripping story, complex characters; a tale of friendships and betrayals, trust and love and a search for them, dustructive mental illness... all woven into a beautiful story told through the eyes of the ill boy.

Wonderful book for teens and beyond

This story was a wonderful account of a boy suffering from the past

the only thing that bothered me was the use of American words in what I thought to be a story set in the U.K.

Lovely story shame about the Americanisms

Enjoyed this even more than I expected. Initially listened to it to see if I’d like to use with me class but ended up liking and wanting to listen to just for enjoying it.
Loved the sensitive way the topic of OCD was wound through the story. As a teacher in a primary special school I imagine it would encourage many interesting discussions.
Looking forward to reading/listening to more of Lisa Thompson’s books.
