Sandi please bring back Dorothy, Jack, Birdie Aran, Amber and Stevie and even Mrs Haggeston for one more fabulous Friday in the Onion. I miss them all already. What happens to Agatha? What about Graham's underpants? What pizza toppings are currently on offer? Barbara has long hair...who will empty the cassette now?
That beautiful conclusion cannot be the end...this is Dorothy!!! She and I are friends. I will be waiiting on the flower carved bench in the square by the flowerbeds., hoping to share a brownie with any of my new family members in the very near future ....

Loved the story and characters. Lots of twists and turns and never too heavy in subject matter and delivery was excellent. You know you’ve got a great book when you make up stuff to do just so you can listen to the next few chapters :)

Toksvig has created a somewhat idealised, but compelling community of endearing characters. I was won over by this hopeful story of the unconditional love of the chosen family. A much needed escape from the increasing negativity we struggle through in society and a roadmap on how it might be improved.
