About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
The #1 bestseller
Packed with hard-won wisdoms and gentle revelations, this is Miranda's honest exploration of the lessons that have helped her.
Hello to you, I am with news. I have a new book: I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You. I know – what an intriguing title!
Basically, I have had an unexpectedly difficult decade – there have been surprising joys but also deep revelations and challenging lows. I shall be honest about those, because what I discovered in the difficult times were my, what I call, treasures. Treasures – practical tools, values, ways, answers researched from some great scientists, neuroscientists, therapists, sociologists (all the ‘ists’) out there – that have genuinely led to a sense of freedom, joy, peace and physical recovery I never would have thought possible. Life now, amazingly, with what I will share is – SUCH FUN! (Always important to quote your own catch phrases…)
If you fancy having a read, then I hope my story might help your story. After all, we are in this beautiful, mysterious, challenging life together. Rest assured there are funny stories along the way – we will have a laugh too, my dear reader chum. Oh, and I couldn’t possibly say if there is a love story in it . . . (There is – shush.) Exciting!
'A bombshell, moving, inspirational. Hart passes on the tips that helped her emerge from psychological as much as physical doldrums. No comedian, female or male, has been so taken to the nation’s bosom since Victoria Wood' Independent
'A raw and poignant account. Miranda is more of an everywoman than ever before' The Times
'Miranda's account of slowly letting her guard down and being vulnerable is sweet and moving, and proof that happiness is possible even in the most trying times' Guardian

To the reader, If you’re expecting a jolly romp from this book, that’s not it’s purpose but if you or someone you know has ME/long COVID/Lyme or any similar conditions this may well be a god send. But it does also have nuggets of value for anyone living in our crazy, stressy world
A very comforting listen for anyone with chronic illness

It’s so interesting to hear Miranda share her knowledge about the many things she’s found to help her, at times live along side her condition. She talks of being in and around nature. Stopping to enjoy the simple things which are some of the most beautiful things. Nature and animals in particular dogs.
I get every word as I also choose to see beauty and joy in the smallest of things. I can see a park from my bed and a long row of trees which sway in the wind.
And to watch the rain on my window. Even thunder!
This beautifully written book is almost like music to my ears! With the extra bonus, hearing it read by the infectious and witty Maranda sharing such honesty and vulnerability is commendable. I am delighted you have found love or rather it found you. I myself feel blessed every day to have a husband who adores me, as do my family. It’s the main reason I still have hope and faith in finding treatment. I also believe in a positive attitude ( most of the time ) with plenty of smiling and singing and lastly hugs. Maybe Miranda could write a book about hugging and smiling, just putting it out there!
I highly recommend this book I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did ❤️. Alison
Everything I love about Miranda and more!

I found Miranda’s deep dive into the psychology of suffering, with her honest reflections to be insightful and frankly refreshingly novel. So many self help books highlight the need for a change of mindset and that’s all well and good, but how to get there is another thing entirely. Miranda teaches freedom and finding your true self, but also acknowledges the fragility of life and how she has fallen and easily relapsed into old ways of thinking.
I will be re-listening immediately to this book and will then take some notes on the key teachings and practical tools she’s found helpful. For example the ‘why’ questioning concept is a game changer!
If you’re struggling to move past your past mindset or know someone who is, then this book will deliver. It’s honest and exposing, which is very brave for someone in the public eye, but nothing is wasted because she has found freedom and with her encouragement-so can we.
Also-she’s found love and I couldn’t be more happy for her. She’s the friend we all wish to have and her ‘Bristol boy’ is a very fortunate man.
A book enthusing freedom within the confines of chronic illness
