Holistic approach to learn and recover from ED

This audiobook is a great support tool to help you understand this problem and tackle it.
It covers a lot of aspects: recovery strategies and advice, exercises to practise, habits and other supportive resources to be used. Moreover, I have particularly appreciated that the author speak about "complementary" topics, e.g. probiotics for gut health and benefits to exercise and physical activity.

I highly recommend it!

Great content and practical advice

Having worked as a trained counsellor, I was looking at broadening my knowledge of eating disorders. I deal with a number of patients in my role as counsellor and a personal trainer where eating disorders plague people's lives. This audible looks to provide a practical guide to overcoming eating disorders and works in a logical sequence. Highly recommended.

Really helped me

This audio book really helped me start to conquer my eating disorder. I have been dealing with insecurity and this resulted in my eating disorder. This audio book has helped me start the healing process, in a healthy way.

Deeper understanding of Eating Disorders

I sometimes work with women who have eating disorders, and one of my very best friends has struggled with one for years. I listened to this book so that I would be able to understand better, and therefore be a better support system to those who need. I am so glad I found this book. I always take a holistic view on healing anything, and I was pleased to see the author incorporates this thinking in this book also. Highly recommend to anyone struggling with and eating disorder, or anyone trying to educate themselves to be a better support to loved ones who are struggling.

Well researched and hollistic

I am a firm believer that holistic ways go hand in hand with medical ways of healing yourself and staying healthy. This book presents you with various latest research and discoveries in the field to help you fully heal and recover after ED. It is only a few hours of your life that might give you some essential information - worth a listen!

Eating should be a wonderful thing

My wife has an eating disorder. As a child, her uncle had to feed her until the age of 7 because she didn't like to eat nor wasn't motivated to eat. To this day, her favorite food is soup and now our son is the same way. A snack for him is an apple and a meal is some rice with vegetables which isn't bad but he is so small. Knowledge is power. I love how this book attacks a topic that some get mad about, but this is the elephant in the room. Know that you are not alone. Great read! Share with many people.

The author has lived through it

You can tell through the story that the author in fact lived through this disorder and came through. The tips shared helped her and they may help someone else but ultimately she was sharing her journey and the self-help tips that got her through. Overall decent book.

Excellent and Informative

I have a friend who has an eating disorder and I will definitely be sending this book her way. It's a great audiobook packed with essential information, insights and guidance. In fact I would say if you have this book, there's no need to do any extra research anywhere else as the content covers everything you need to know. And it's presented clearly and is easy to understand. It was enlightening to learn just how powerful a positive mind can be in terms of one's recovery and I also found the information about nutrition to be excellent. The author should be commended for such a powerful and informative book. If you are trying to recover from an eating disorder, or just want to learn more about the subject matter, then I highly recommend!

Eating disorder recovery starts here

To me, what gives this audiobook credibility, is that the author is not only a registered nurse (RN), she also struggled with her own eating disorder for 11 years before finding healing. Now she is an eating disorder recovery coach. It’s because of her background that I felt the quality of the information shared was convincing and believable. I love her mantra, “the small steps I take each day make my recovery possible.” LISTEN to this audiobook as a small step in the right direction for your own recovery.

Difficult subject presented sensitively- Recommend

I work as a social worker and am always on the look out for books on this subject that I can refer clients too if needed.

This book gives great information and advise from both a personal and professional standpoint which brings a real connection and intimacy to the listener. I was shocked to hear that 9% of the USA population suffer this condition. Kara is very knowledgable on the subject and presents a difficult subject in an easy to listen way.
