Summary
Sophie befriends the mythical Alicorn - and puts her mysterious powers to the test - in this enchanting sequel to Keeper of the Lost Cities.
Sophie is settling in nicely to her new home and her new life in the world of the lost cities. And it helps that living at Havenfield means getting to spend time with rare, precious species - including the first female Alicorn, who shows herself to Sophie and trusts no one but her.
Sophie is tasked with helping to train the magical creature so that the Alicorn can be revealed to the people of the lost cities as a sign of hope, and Sophie wants to believe that the recent drama and anguish is gone for good.
But the secrets buried deep in Sophie's memories remain, and before long she's back in incredible danger, risking everything to find the answers to questions that could save not only her life, but the life of someone close to her....

Exile
This follow on story carries of the same adventure with in a new school year, with a new creature to look after and protect. With members of the council openly hostile and others seemingly friendly. Sophie has other elves fearful of her as she was kidnapped and some how this will affect their children if they go near her. Read brilliantly again by Caitlin Kelly.

Elves Need Therapy and Ethics
Spoiler alert:
I should have stopped when a 13 year old child was asked to participate in the society's equivalent of an execution. Or when removing an animal from the wild-an animal that can teleport and is an intelligent species-is considered the only recourse for the species (see Galapagos tortoises). Or when the main character is told to just suppress and not think about feelings of guilt because they cause the mind to fracture. "Suppress those feelings." "Don't think about it." Or when a counselor is allowed to literally torture a child--gleefuly I may add.
All in all, not something I want my kids to internalize.

A great sequel!
I enjoyed this book more than the first one. There were some dark parts that I didn't like as much, but the overall story was well-written and a fun listen.

OMG
I had already read this book and it’s still amazing the second time. I’ve been going through a hard time in life because of the quarantine and crap and nothing cheers me up more that listening to Keefe talk, he is hilarious and cool just like most of the characters in the book. I recommend this book to literally al of the 8.5 billion people on the planet!:)

Appreciate the Narrator
Can we take a second to talk about how good the narrator was? Her voices were so good and she did not read like she was reading to 5 year olds. Sophie is a little overpowered considering the one thing she sucks at her friends are awesome at, but its so well written and I just love these books.

Best Book Ever!!!!!
In the beginning, Sophie is assigned an over protective Goblin bodyguard named Sandor.
And Finally another Alicorn that can stop the timeline to Extinction! The female Alicorn meets the only other Male Alicorn, Grayfell! But, the Neverseen tries to blackmail the council to the timeline to extinction... Will they succeed?
Sophie also goes to Exile (A underground prison) with Alden for a memory break on Fintan. But on the way back, Alden finds guilt coming his way because of the sacrifice on Pretise. Then Alden's sanity breaks, while Fitz and Biana blames Sophie for the reason.
In the end, the black swan sends Sophie a note for her to ride the Alicorn, Silvenny to their Secret hideout with her friend Keefe, in that time, Keefe's Mom was the leader of the Neverseen, she had attached a listening device for her to listen to his conversations. So when the Sophie is done, the neverseen ambushed them and seriously injured the alicorn, so she couldn't fly back to safety, and then they're pushed down a cliff by the neverseen, and when all of them think they're sure to die, Sophie manifests a new ability:Teleporting. And she Teleports them back to safety! And Finally, Silvenny's recovered! Yay!
