Summary
Illusions shatter - and Sophie and her friends face impossible choices - in this astonishing eighth book in the New York Times and USA Today best-selling Keeper of the Lost Cities series.
Sophie Foster wants answers. But after a lifetime of lies, sometimes the truth is the most dangerous discovery. Even the smallest secret comes with terrifying new responsibilities.
And Sophie’s not the only one with blank spots in her past, or mysteries surrounding her family. She and her friends are part of something much bigger than they imagined - and their roles have already been chosen for them.
Every clue drags them deeper into the conspiracy. Every memory forces them to question everything - especially one another. And the harder they fight, the more the lines blur between friend and enemy.

For those of you that say it’s boring
For those of you that say it’s boring do you understand that everything needs a backstory and if you’re interested in the long Hall of everything that’s going on in Sophie‘s life You have to understand that if things were simpler the story would’ve been done with and also nobody would’ve read it again. I understand this is A book for children or I would say preteens. Everyone that says that they want their fantasies to be all sunshine butter cups and full of daisies really wants to pretend like reality isn’t painful. Think of it as a dream when you jump into a book you have your twist interns and then you have the sheer bliss and happiness at the end you have a couple of good moments and a couple bad moments I’m actually very happy that Sophie is being a teenager she doesn’t need to worry about love it does distract she needs to worry about being a leader I do love the Fitz or Keth I love them both but I also love all the other characters in between and to me I’m curious to know who the new character is. I love the books they have not let me down yet I think it’s a little obnoxious that I have to wait a whole year for another book but at least this book wasn’t too short and it took me a few days to get through it. I will definitely be listening to it again and seeing what I’ve missed because I do fall asleep. Show me the series is worth reading I think it’s a little obnoxious how she has to explain certain abilities over and over and over again it’s like people don’t have funny moment “ Photo genic memory” read it yourself you’ll see that Sophie is in love with more than one boy in her mind is starting to realize it and that is the only spoiler that I’m giving happy listening.

This Is An Amazing Book I Definitely recommend This Book Series!
This book made me ship team Foster Keefe more than ever, & made me dislike Fitz a bit more, & cry, so it’s obviously a star striking book.💔💛💙💫

Another emotional leap for the Keepers!
I'll never grow tired of this series! Such a world and charaters are profound and loveable! I was on the fence between Fitzpie and Sokeefe, but I'm more leaning toward Sokeefe after this one! I cannot wait for the next installment!

Love this book to the moon and back.
I started reading the first KOTLC book for a book report and a immediately fell in love with all of the characters and the story line. This is the first audio book that I’ve heard for the series since I won’t be getting my hard copy for a few months. I’ve recommend this book to all of the readers in my life and they have all loved it. Thanks Audible for the audiobook and thank you Shannon Messenger for these amazing books and for not giving us too much of a cliffhanger like book 4.

Disappointing and Drags
We have loved listening to this series as a family, and initially we were very impressed and taken in by Shannon Messenger's storytelling. BUT the past two books (this one and #7) have been really tough to get through. Everything is extremely lengthy, conversations drag on and on between characters, and it has really started to feel inauthentic. It makes me wonder if Shannon Messenger has succumbed to the cash flow
involved in making this series go on and on instead of staying true to really giving us a great tale. Sophie is a disappointment too. the author has made her into someone very self-centered and disrespectful. Though this book does end with a pretty big cliff-hanger, I'm not sure we are going to stick around to hear/read the end of the series.
