Glad it was cheap.

The reader is nearly as bad as Cathy Dobson! His voice is good but his conveyance is monotone, unenthusiastic and almost impossible to follow. He makes no attempt to change his voice to suit the character.
I'm glad this was cheap.

WORST NARRATOR EVER.

Poe is a writer of many fantastic tales, I am a huge fan but don't waste your money/credit on this audiobook, the narrator reads it like a lecture. No emotion, no pauses, no change of tone for different characters. Make sure you listen to the sample, he is reading at such a fast monotonous pace it is ridiculous.
Total waste of time.

Please tell me this is being read by a machine

I had to stop 6 minutes in. It's like the early days of speech synthesis, Speak and Spell would do better.

Awful narrator

It’s like the narrator is just reeling off names from a list...... no modulation ....... you can’t listen to the story cause he’s emphasising and stressing the wrong words ..... so you just can’t follow what the reading .... waste of money and time trying to listen and make sense of the stories :(

Awfully narrated!

Sounds like it's being narrated by an 80's computer. Monotone, no feeling, no emotion and no pause for breath!

What the actual f@#(?

I lasted exactly 5 minutes, narrative was dull, painful, generated and disjointed. Author would hate.

Like finger nails down a blackboard.

This is appalling. I enjoyed reading Edgar Alan poe stories but this droning voice sounded, to me, like nails down a blackboard. I had to abandon listening as could not bear it for more than 30 minutes. Would not recommend this reading at all. Lucky it got one star.
