Summary

In the stunning conclusion to the Supernatural Prison trilogy, Jessa Lebron finds herself deep in the world of Larkspur, the dragon king. She will have to play it smart and fight with everything to stay one step ahead of him and while at times it's tough to keep her focus, she will do anything to escape and reunite with her boys, the Compass quads. Of course, it's impossible to be where she is and not dig deeper into the curse of the dragon mark. As more information is uncovered, she starts to understand why she, of all supernaturals, was the one to be singled out. And this changes everything she thought she knew. Turns out she doesn't know a damn thing. There will be decisions to make. Tough decisions. Jessa has to be strong enough for the sake of the supernatural races, but sometimes that's easier said than done.

A lovely end to the series

I binged this entire trilogy in less than a week and it was definitely worth it. I really enjoyed the build up of the plot leading to the big battle. The pregnancy reveals were also quite nice and I am definitely wanting yo know what happens with Mischa and Max. I did feel the end battle with the dragon King was really rushed. I was expecting some kind of duel between Braxton and the dragon King so that was a little dissapointing. Overall, this was a fun listen.

A Decent Ending

Dragon Mated (which doesn't mean what you think it does) brings the story of Jessa, her family, the Compass quads, and Louis tighter together while they seek a way to kill Larkspar and end his plans of absolute tyranny. In this installment, we spend more time in fairy-land and learn more about Jessa's dual-shiftiness.

At the end of book 2 Jessa and the quads were separated and Jessa was in the clutches of the evil King Larkspur, or Larkie, as Jessa calls him (either way...a STUPID name). Luckily, Jessa got free of the nutbag rather quickly and was reunited with her boys. Louis had a big role in this book and Braxton got his chance to really shine. Mischa is still just as whiny and pathetically needy as she's always been. But I guess we had to have one character who doesn't learn and grow from the experiences she endures.

There is a lot of action in this book and the relationships deepen. But I have to say that I was disappointing with the sheer amount of bad language in the book. Call me a square if you want, but when every other word is a swear word, I fully believe the author couldn't come up with anything better. And the redundancy of the swearing is even worse.

My BIGGEST problem with this book is Jessa. The first two books built her up so much as this general butt-kicker alpha, but the truth is she is just another pretty face waiting for her brawny, beautiful male protectors. Her inner monologue is so much "he's going to get an ass-kicking" or "I'm going to rip her face off." But when push comes to shove...nothing. She runs away more than she fights and it makes all the build up of her personality more than a little ridiculous.

Overall, it was a decent close to the story because of the action and the characters other than Jessa.

3rd book sucks

This book was poorly written. Grossly written with swearing and parts make to me say...oh fuck come on! Such sloppy writing. Series was enjoyable until the last book. Now I’m glad it’s over! Very disappointed.

Borrow or buy on sale

It’s part 3 of the poorly titled Supernatural Prison series, and the end of the trilogy featuring Jessa as the primary protagonist.
It’s Jaymin Eve, so expect entertainment, not tight plotting.
The beginning with Jessa’s attempts to escape the Dragon King have an almost Wonderland feel and the battle ending was a bit melodramatic; but there was enough follow through from the first two books that you kinda want to know what happens. The highlight is innocent Mischa is preggo, also; and who the father is.
Again, UpperYA and above. Kindle or buy audio on sale; or borrow if you can.
Rosenberg does an OK job of narration.

Awesome series

I purchased the audible version of this series and listened while cooking dinner and cleaning the kitchen. It made a chore enjoyable (but sometimes dinner was a little toasty). I can't wait to read the companion books about the other Compasses.

NOOO! I don't want it to be over!

Again, I don't really feel like taking the time to write a review, because I NEED to start Broken Compass immediately. This was a fantastic conclusion to Jessa and Braxton's story. Shocking twists, crazy mated males, evil Dragon King, and amazing Faerie lands fill this non-stop final installment of Jaymin Eve's Supernatural Prison series. Thank the Gods the Compass boys are getting their own books, because I am NOT ready to exit this world.

Good trilogy however could've been better

This was a good book and the trilogy ended nicely with mostly everything wrapping up nicely. I was disappointed that the characters didn't grow at all since the first book. The characters never seem to use many descriptive words - more so just general terms which make it hard to listen to. It also seemed that certain details were just thrown in to provide more story lines - it didn't fit or was not thought out properly. However, those side plot lines could be there to set up another book - but still seemed out of place.

The narration was well done. Dara Rosenberg did a great job differentiating characters as well as being a good storyteller.

All in all this was a good trilogy however it could've been better.
