Summary

*Seven half-Walker girls. Seven worlds. One chance to save them all!*

Abigail Swish's life is nothing to brag about: gang-ridden city, orphanage style accommodations, and a matron who's kinda on the evil side.

Not that she has to worry about that for much longer. She'll turn 18 soon, and then it's goodbye compound, hello dangerous streets of New York City.

Of course, as her luck would have it, she doesn't make it to 18 before her world is turned upside down. One ambushed meeting with an accent-bearing, sword-wielding stranger, and suddenly her entire life as she knows it is a lie. Apparently she was just stashed on Earth for safekeeping and has been lost to her family ever since. And it's time to return home. To First World; a land of unimaginable beauty.

Of course, one should never forget how the old tale goes: beauty often hides the darkest secrets.

Good start, now for more....

I feel this is another nice little series I could easily get in to. If you liked the Gender Game series by Bella Forrest I feel you will easily like this. It's technically young adult ish, but I'm a big kid I guess and I found this very easy to listen to on my daily commute.

I'm intrigued to see how the series pans out as I feel it has a lot of potential to grow on me even more.

Red / Abigail / Arabella seems like a feisty female character so it will be nice to see how she develops and tackles the crazy tasks ahead of her.

The only character I don't really get is Lucy, she seems like an added extra with no purpose unless they are scene setting for later books. Who knows?????

I like the narration the pace and story could be a little faster but over all I feel its a real grower. Enjoy....

A fabulous audio

Surviving on earth in a girls compound since being a small baby, Abigail abs her friend Lucy dream of escaping war torn post apocalypse New York. When they are transported to first world Abi finds herself with a family and life she never knew. Without being given time to settle in she has to go on a rescue mission to save the only family she has ever known.

Packed full of drama and excitement this is a great start to a new series, with excellent world building, loveable characters and a great plot, I was glued to the page.

After listening to the audiobook I can also recommend it, the narrator really brings the story to life, with a great tone of voice and perfect pace, I love her different voices for each of the characters, she makes it easy to listen too and lose yourself in the story

Great story but a bit slow pace

This particular book is a bit slow paced for my taste. Jaymin is a great author and knowing that this is her first published book, her first "baby" I can see the potential. Compared to other great books from Jaymin this one is a bit slow. The narrator did a good job, but the voices were not all that great. Other than that, overall, I like the story and where it's headed. An awesome series.

What is the purpose of Lucy?

What disappointed you about First World?

Lucy

What was most disappointing about Jaymin Eve’s story?

Lucy

Have you listened to any of Eva Kaminsky’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, she's always great

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The narration

Any additional comments?

Lucy's character should have been replaced. She just made me angry I DNF because she was beyond annoying in a juvenile manner

FINALLY been waiting on this FOREVER!!

This is one of the best series I've ever had the pleasure of reading and now to my utter delight listen to. I've never had a series to elicit such emotion from me as Jaymin Eve's Walker Series. I enjoyed the narration of it I wish the narrator wouldn't make her breaths in so LOUD. I eventually was able to ignore it as I immersed myself in this wonderful story. you will NOT be disappointed.

Needs work on performance

The book was O.K. I have read some of Jaymin Eve's books and I do enjoy them. Unfortuntely, it seems that the biggest problem I have with this book is the narrator. When listening to the book, you can hear her gasp, taking larger breaths and at some points that is all you hear. I had to restart some Chapters because all I could hear was her inhaling of breath. It was not soft either. It sounded like coming out of the water after holding your breath for a significant amount of time.
I don't know if maybe that in part might have played a role in why I felt that the book was O.K.

How have I not read this before now?!?

I have been an avid reader since the first time I was able to escape into a story. This book has it all and is one of the funniest, most genuine books I have ever read. I have now bought the next four books in the series because I am THAT confident/impressed. Very well done. Diverse characters. Complicated plot without getting muddled. Would recommend to...anyone who likes anything.
