Summary
It’s been almost a year since the Trials of Unyielding Steel.
When Lydia gets a lead on the whereabouts of Jonathan Sterling, she concludes her training with a legendary immortal sorcerer and puts a plan in motion for his capture.
Near Selyr, Taelien reunites with an old friend - Wrynn Jaden, the legendary Witch of a Thousand Shadows - and meets with Jonan to make a deal.
Jonan, of course, has other concerns. His master, the legendary Lady of Thieves herself, has given him a new assignment - one that hints at world-shaping events, if he can survive the mission. He’ll partner with Velas, but she has her own problems to deal with, including a revelation that will test where her loyalties truly lie.

The story afther Defying Destiny
if you enjoyed The War of Broken Mirrors series by Andrew Rowe and want to learn about what happend afther i would recomend to read the following series: Weapons and Wielders, and the series Arcane Ascension
The weapons and Wielders serie follows Taelien at the location where he comes to at the end of this book (I will not spoil any of the story), The first book in this series is named Six sacred swords, there is also a book two of this series but it havent been released yet (Or atleast not in audiobook form like this one was) The name of this book is Diamantine and will be releasd on the 07.07.2020.
the Arcane Ascension books followeds some other persons that we havent met yet in The War of Broken Mirrors book series, Taelien do apears in these books to, in book 1 it only brifely but in book 2 he got more of an impact. but it do not make it clear how many years have gone past between the books Six sacred sword, and book 1 in The arcane Ascension books.
i would higely recomed to read these books if you did enjoy The War of Broken Mirrors books

Addicted to Rowe's tales
I've not found another author for the style, who's works I like more than Andrew Rowe's. Nick Podehl brings the win again.

Juvenile and a chore to listen to
I used to like this series, however I just loathed this book. The plot was boring. I found myself not caring one bit for any of the characters. Maybe it was the narration. They all came across as moronic teenagers and terribly grating to listen to. I gave up listening after 5-6 chapters.

Great continuation of the series...
... though it does have many lengthy fight scenes. A little less fighting would have made for a better story.

Fantastic
Andrew and Nick both combine once again to create an amazing experience. I can't believe they consistently create such fantastic audiobooks between Andrew's immaculate writing and Nick's continuously perfect narration.

5 star performance with a 5 star story to boot
this book was a stellar addition to the now trilogy of the series and a perfect wrapping up of the story to the beginning of the other series.
if you like a series that ties off lose ends and creates a tapestry where you can see the threads pull together definitely check out the rest of Mr. Rowes work!!!

Great fantasy book
The story from Andrew Rowe is large and encompassing while still getting the points and questions answered in a single book.
Nick Podehl narration is amazing with the multitude of voices he's able to create works very well for a book with so many characters. he is in par with Michael Kramer.

A Great Ending/ Beginning.
This book had so many twists and surprises that got more captivating with each chapter! I loved the character development, I became more emotionally invested in each character the deeper Andrew dived into their backstories. The ending was played out very well and it was a satisfying ark to the Six Sacred Swords. This feels like just the beginning to an epic story. Thank you Andrew Rowe for the great read and thank you Nick Podehl for the great listen. SPOILER WARNING! The ending had a really good tie in to Six Sacred Swords. Knowing now what Taelien is really makes what he is trying to do for Dawn Bringer a lot more personal. He's trying to get Dawn her own body because he himself is technically a sword spirit with his own body. He probably understands more than anyone how she feels.
