as good as the ebook
The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

Best friends to lovers...
Austin has been in love with his best friend for years. Ryker had no clue and he left for college to become the Alpha select. Great concept on a shifter world by the way. Their love brews slowly, even after a heat episode. They have problems to solve, an abusive parent, a stalker and being the new boss of a pack is not an easy task. I found it quite enjoyable.

Loved it!
I really loved this story, the characters were great and the ending was very satisfying but what really wowed me was the narrator! He was PERFECT! His voice was emotional but not silly. I don’t know how he could read all the sex scenes out loud like that lol Bravo!

Friends to Lovers and Second Chances
A wonderful first look into the Blackwater Pack. When Austin goes into heat, his longtime friend, Ryker, helps him through it and they find out they're fated mates. This story is full of action, love and coming together as a pack. I can't wait for the next story from Blackwater.
Narrator Nikola Muckajev does a wonderful job.

not my cup of tea
didn't realize it was an mpreg, i mean if you like those stories fine, but i honestly just think their a total cop out their just an super easy way for female writers to do a straight story and just change the female terms to male, especially with absolutely NO story, its what i like to refer to as easy paycheck, kinda just done to keep the lights on, but honestly as far from an actual gay novel as you can get.

chewing gum?
the narrator is good...BUT chapter 15 he starts chewing gum and it is SO DISTRACTING!!! He swallowed a lot but wasn't too big of a deal, but the gum chewing ugh 🤦♀️First time ever that I made a review in the middle of the story! Loved the story so far though.

Nice start to a new series
This was a good story no matter what but I highly recommend reading it first rather than starting with book 1 in the series. Not only does it provide world building to help understand the framework for the series but knowing about the events and characters in this book make the next one more enjoyable. It’s not required to read it first but is well worth it.
