Summary
Danny Kingman is used to fending for himself. Working nonstop as an ER nurse to pay for his mother’s care, he’s been putting his own life on hold for as long as he can remember. But when an unbelievably hot, strangely intense man saves him from a mugging, Danny has a feeling everything is about to change. Especially when that man suddenly pops out a pair of fangs.

Roman is a heated, fated-mates MM paranormal romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It contains insta-obsession, a cinnamon roll of an ER nurse, and the possessive vampire determined to keep him. It also contains steamy scenes between two men, and the moderate violence (and mentions of blood) that one might expect from a vampire romance. Not suitable for listeners under 18.

Fabulous
I've already enjoyed the series on Kindle, and am enjoying Roman even more on Audible. The characters are brought to life perfectly, and I'm going to be so happy when they all come out in this format.

Vampiricly hypnotic and hot
Grae Bryan's Vampire Mates series is an absolute delight of standalone yet interlinking books, each worthy of being enjoyed on individual merits. I'd actually read the other books without getting to Roman first and it was delightful to dip in from the beginning and see how the series started. Beautifully performed by Michael Ferraiuolo in a steady, almost hypnotic delivery that's soothing and tantalising (in the right places!) all at once. Oh - and his demon voice. Oh my. ;)

loved it
I'm new to Grae Bryan's vampire series. it was always on my tbr but I just wasn't getting a chance to read it. A lot of my friends had read it and recommended it. So when I saw the audio, I knew I had to pick it up.
The fated mate connection controlling the demon was fascinating and I really enjoyed how Danny spoke to Roman's inner demon giving them a chance to connect.
By the end I was ready for both Soren and Luc's stories and I'm wondering if I'll hold out for the audio or not.
As I've come to expect from this narrator, the performance was fantastic. He made it such an easy listen. All of the voices were distinct.

Such a fun series!
I recently read this full series and was thrilled to learn that the first book is now available on audio! I often find that the first book in a series really serves to set up the “lore” of the fictional world being built (even when that world is mostly contemporary) and this is definitely the case with Roman. But we still get a quick paced, fated mates, vampire romance with almost no angst. Plus if you enjoy interconnected standalones then this series will definitely be right up your alley. The narration was very well done, as there is a large cast of characters (who eventually have their own books), and it was easy to tell each character apart. Fingers crossed the rest of the series gets produced for audio STAT!

I loved this book the first time I read it. Listening to it was just so much better! Reliving this epic journey and romance was the icing on this vampire cake. Perfection! 👩🍳😚🤌. Can’t wait to listen to the next book.

Utter perfection.
I listened to Soren first and then backtracked to Roman and ugh. Michael Ferraiuolo did just as an amazing job with Roman and Danny as he did with Soren and Gabe. Now, I am so impatient for Lucien and Jamie!!!

Pretty good
Disliked how infantalizing Roman was toward Danny. Too much use of pet names like "my little boy" or "my little king." It feels like every other sentence from Roman to Danny is "my mate" this or "my mate" that. Like, I get that it's a fated mate book, but you don't have to remind me every paragraph. yeesh.
Aside from those complaints, this was actually pretty good. It's not going on any favorites list, but I enjoyed it!

Definitely Worth a listen, I was a little off put by the narrator but I quickly realized that he’s great by the second chapter. I wish the rest of this series was available.

Love this series!
Michael Ferraiuolo does an outstanding job of bringing this story to life. He adds such depth to the wonderful characters.
Roman by Grae Bryan is a fated mates romance between a sweet-and-independent E.R. nurse Danny and the lonely, cynical vampire Roman.
Danny is sassy and sweet with a backbone of steel and Roman is sexy with a strong protective instinct for those he loves.
Trouble comes when Roman's maker reenters the picture. Will their love be strong enough to withstand this?
I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and look forward to the rest of the series!

Really good start to a vampire romance series
I really enjoyed Roman and Michael Ferraiuolo does an amazing job at giving voice to these characters. I think this is a really fresh take on the vampire stories. Roman is a very old vampire and kind of stumbles upon his mate, Danny, a human nurse working the late shift. The characters are really well flesh out and I love Soren, who is an old friend of Roman. Danny is a bit eager to jump right in but I mean, if some vampire offered me a romance of a lifetime, I may also be quick to agree. The pacing is well done and the action keeps the story moving while Roman and Danny get to know each other. The dialogue is on point and the side characters actually have personalities. I read this first, but I was super excited to learn that Michael was narrating this series as I love his work! This is a really great pairing of fun storytelling with very talented narration to create something special!

Loved it!!
I loved everything about this book! Roman Is a hot, swoon worthy vampire and Danny is a cute, snarky nurse. As he is passing through town, Roman feels a strong pull to Danny. Even though he has heard of fated mates, he doesn’t truly believe until he meets Danny. Danny also feels the connection and when he learns who/what Roman is, he is curious but not afraid. Their bond quickly strengthens but their future is threatened by an old friend of Roman’s. I don’t want to give any spoilers, so I’ll just say that this book has it all: amazing characters, a riveting storyline, lots of humor, steamy times and a forever love. I absolutely consider this to be a must read/listen it’s that good. I usually either read a book or listen to it, not both. In this case I loved it so much I had to get the audio too. The narrator was excellent and I’ll definitely be getting the rest of the series in audio!
