Summary
Sometimes, dreams really do come true.
Everyone has that special someone - their first love. The memory of that person who brings butterflies to your stomach and a smile to your lips.
My first love was Owen Moore. He was my best friend's older brother - a broad, strapping alpha who never failed to make me feel safe. I spent most of my childhood at the Moore's house, their open warmth a welcome relief from the cold reception my own parents gave me. Owen never looked twice at me then.
Now, I'm back in Blackwater, teaching at the local school. Owen's in Blackwater, too, protecting and serving as part of the police force. I still love him - but this time, I'm not a kid anymore. It's time for me to show him just how grown up I really am.
Game. On.
Welcome to Blackwater, Montana: a small town with a big personality, where shifters and humans coexist. Claimed by My Protector is a dual point-of-view shifter mpreg audiobook with a guaranteed happy ending. The first in this series, this story can also be listened to as a stand-alone.

Disappointing storyline
Everytime I thought a bit of plot came through it was solved within that same chapter and immediatly followed up with sex. The storyline was a little disappointed.

Brother’s Best Friend
Another great series by Liam Kingsley! I’ve been on an alpha/omega shifters (mpreg) kick lately and this one didn’t disappoint. I love the whole pining since teenage-years that Luka has going on for Owen.
Sweet story. Sexy times. Great read.
Nikola Muckajev did a good job with his narration, I kinda wish he captured more nuances for each character though and perhaps a wider range with the character voices. Good narration, nonetheless.

Friends to Lovers
Lukas is so sweet and I loved his story! He returns to town after being away at college and decides to go for the alpha he wants!
This is labeled as book 1 but don’t miss Claiming my
Best Friend (which is set before this story)!

Good start to a series
I enjoyed this book but chose to read book .5 (Claiming my best friend) first as other reviewers suggested and I’m really glad I did. There’s world building in that book that I was glad I knew about when I started this book and in general having it as background added to my enjoyment of the story and characters. You certainly could just start with this book but I’m glad I followed the advice of other reviewers.

Get better sound & editing equipment
It needs better editing with the sound. The end of many chapters are cut off with the abrupt "Chapter" and then the next chapter number. Which is louder than the narrator has been speaking. The narration continues like there never was a chapter break and the Chapter labels were overlaid after without being cut in correctly. You can hear the narrator swallowing and can tell when they are drinking and has background noise in a few places. The story was cute but I'll probably read the next books if they have the same narrator.

Okay story, quick paced
Quick, easy read.
I do love alpha/omega books and even better if they're m/m, so this was great in those aspects. I wish the wolf and alpha/omega part was a little more prominent, but I do like that there are mates. Owen and Lukas were perfect together, they had good chemistry and Owen protecting Lukas was sweet and sexy. The romance scenes were well done and the pacing was fast. There could have been a bit more plot other than the pining to fill out the story.
Overall a good book and the narration on the audiobook was great.

ASMR nightmare
It a good story and I’d read it again in book format but the mouth sounds of the narrator drove me insane. His voice is nice but It sounded like he was chewing gum the whole time.

Lucas needs Owen to see him as an equal...
Lucas has been in love with Owen – his best friend Austin’s older brother – for what seems like forever, but Owen has always treated him like a cherished little brother, not as the equal… the man … that Lucas has become. This first installment of the Blackwater Pack series (not counting the prequel Claiming My Best Friend) is a sweet story with lots of heat – best friend’s brother trope makes this alpha/omega shifter mates pairing all the hotter. I’m really enjoying this series a lot, in no small way due to Nikola Muckajev’s narration. Recommended!
