Summary
When a feline fatale meets his magical match, Baltimore might just go up in flames.
I, Carter Strike, Siamese shifter extraordinaire and a powerful demon’s right-hand cat—er, man—have a job to do. My boss’ boy toy is in the crosshairs of an unknown assassin. And when my boss is unhappy, all of Charm City burns.
That’s where I come in. Intel is my specialty, and it leads me to the doorstep of one drop-dead gorgeous but annoyingly secretive rakshasa.
Bengal Damon-Cowles—even his name is obnoxious—runs Southwest Baltimore and is nothing if not frustratingly contrary. I don’t care if he is a demi-god among shifters, I don’t need the complications from a sexy-as-sin rakshasa with the utter gall to turn down a fine piece of feline-fantasy like myself. Especially when we’re forced to work together. Except every day we spend in close proximity turns up the heat between us.
A roomful of secrets, a looming Nor'easter, and friends with questionable—or nonexistent—morals add gasoline to the blaze. As the stakes climb ever higher and people start dying, I’ve got a cat’s chance in hell of coming out of this one unscorched.
Cat’s Chance in Hell is a 113,000-word snarktastic size-difference forced-proximity enemies-to-lovers car-careening-out-of-control romance with a guaranteed happy ending and lots of steam. Shenanigans include: a catnapping gone very, very wrong, a hot pot incident that will go down in infamy, and a rakshasa with more layers than a Smith Island cake.
Can be absolutely be enjoyed as a stand-alone, but would be more enjoyable listened to in order.

Wonderful characters and performance
What grabbed me immediately in this book is Carter's voice. He's so hysterically full of himself that you can't help but love him as much as he loves himself and hearing him performed by Greg Boudreaux, one of my all-time favorite narrators was a total blast. Watching Carter and Bengal get together was funny, sweet and hot all at the same time. The world building is great as in the first book, there's plenty of paranormal shenanigans going on to keep you interested in the plot as much as the romance and Boudreaux brings all the characters, not just Carter to distinct life.

Fantastic
I’ve been eagerly looking forward to this audiobook and Greg Boudreaux absolutely nailed it. I was gutted when it ended - it seriously didn’t feel like a 10hr audiobook.
Carter was one sassy kitty who definitely kept Ben on his toes. These two were sizzling hot and their moments together were all consuming and sensual.
Greg Boudreaux’s performance was absolutely fantastic.

Loved it
Really enjoyed this book. The characters are fun and quirky in a strange city laid out in the first book of the series.

Hella good story, brilliant narration!!
Story
Where to start? This is hands down a brilliant story - Meghan Maslow you outdid yourself!
There's so much going on, but through it all Carter's sass, wit and orneriness provides an engaging backdrop for the alliances, betrayals and plot twists galore. And one of those plot twists has several accents, so I am praying that there will be an audiobook for this book.
Honestly, I can only tell you I absolutely loved the story and wholeheartedly recommend it- best sequel I've read!!
Audio
Greg Boudreaux has always been one of my favourite performers. I am in awe of his ability to embody the very essence of the characters, especially in this case with Carter and Bengal, (especially Carter). He had the 'purr'fect voice for that sassy cat. Oh and Bengal, such a dreamy voice. This is certainly an excellent way to experience a brilliant story.
HIGHLY recommend the audio, great fun!!
