About this listen

After half a century of chaos, my retirement from leading the Community of Species Government has been bliss. No more hellhounds playing pranks. No more snippy demons demanding my attention. No more cajoling money from the wealthy to support the community. Just peace while I avoid my overbearing father and try to work out my next steps.

Although...maybe three years of peace is enough. It might even be starting to get boring. In fact, an adolescent dragon crash-landing on my landlord's shed is just the kind of excitement I need - especially when he brings his species leader to my door.

Brandt. Wing leader of all dragons, suave, sexy, and slightly unhinged. It doesn't take much for him to convince me to give up my solitude and spend some time getting to know him.

But Brandt's the leader of his people, and I've left that part of my life behind me. Plus my father insists I should fulfill my duty to the family by getting a nine-to-five job and "marrying well". That's not what I want, but riding herd on a group of beings who fly, breathe fire, and could literally crush me beneath their feet would be a huge challenge.

It all comes down to how much I want my very own dragon ever after.

Fantastic book

Storyline was amazing and wow the narrator is on another level. The different accents he uses for the characters is truly amazing.

Fantastic

I'm just leaving the same review for all the books in the series because whilst each book focuses on a different couple there is a continuous storyline and you still see a lot of the other characters.

These books are brilliant. I have never laughed out loud more at a book than I have with these.
I love the whole set up of the world and the different species. The whole series is really well written and all of the characters are unique.

The narration is incredible and it wouldn't be hard to believe there was a full cast of narrators instead of just one.

Highly recommend.

A joy to listen

This was a fabulous listen. The narration is so wel done the humor and pleasure that is already present in the book is at least doubled by Joel Leslie's narration. The pacing and characters are spot on. I am pre-ordering book 2 because I can't wait for it to appear. I listened to this audiobook at speed 1,10

It has been a while since I last read a Louis Masters book, but I totally get why I always get back to her writings. This series gem in her possession the story is wonderful but I now need more. I was laughing out loud because of all the characters antics and interaction. It is so well written that it just flows and draws you in and before you now it I am sadly at the end.

Binged read/listened to this series

I loved everything about this book. The two main characters were great, and the side characters are varied in a good way. The whole world-building is done to a good level, the entire thing totally believable.

I loved everything about this book. Louisa can write, seriously write, how her brain finds these stories, no one knows, but they are so well executed you want to read the next book straight away.

Follow that with the narration by Joel Leslie, and you have a best seller, in my opinion. Yes, I sped up the audible but very slightly, well narrated, clear, and just so concise. But he had a perfect book to narrate. Well done, both of you.

Very little story, boring…

I’ve no idea why this book has so many high ratings, there is little to no story, the humour is incredibly childish and I’m very annoyed I wasted a credit on it - it was so bad I DNF
