Summary
Caleb Lambert kills people for a living. The money is nice, but it comes a distant second to his primary reason for choosing such a vocation: Caleb often calls it “scratching an itch”.
Here’s the thing, though: Caleb won’t just accept any contract. He and his team thoroughly vet each and every prospective mark to make sure they deserve to be punished.
And why not? If anyone knows about true evil in this world, it’s Caleb Lambert. Along with his family, Caleb endured hell at the hands of multiple serial killers throughout his childhood, twisting his young mind into the mess it is today. Forever installed that need to “scratch an itch”.
And Caleb is frequently itchy, and business is good. But when a new job comes across his desk, Caleb’s entire world is turned upside down. The job appears to hold so many similarities to his past that he finds it all but impossible to turn down. An impulsive decision that could cost him dearly.
Author’s note: Caleb is a spin-off of the Bad Games series; however it is a stand-alone novel, and it is not necessary to have read/listened to the Bad Games series to enjoy.

Loved Caleb and his crew..
Wow! What a good book. As blood thirsty as Caleb was I just loved him. After all, he only killed the people who needed to die. Unlike the other killers who would kill for the money, even when they went after Caleb. That's what most of the book was about: five killers that were all hired to kill Caleb, in a little town he grew to like a little too much.
It was a good book but real bloody. And I read a reviewer who said that another book was more gory than it was scary. SO, I won't be reading any more of this author, as good as this book was.
Some sex, but not too descriptive and the F-bomb was used 139 times.
As for the narration: Simply awesome. I've never heard this narrator before but I am going to see what else he's read. His voices and emotions were fabulous.

AWESOME BOOK!
If you read the "Bad Game" series (which I highly recommend) you will enjoy this book. I thought the story line was excellent and I absolutely can not wait for a sequel, if there will be one. Caleb definitely deserves a series of his own. Have my fingers crossed!
Jeff Menapace knows how to keep your interest and I look forward to reading many of his other books.

Grew On Me
Listened to it, walking away thinking "Meh". Asked Alexa to pick a book at random for me to listen to and ^@%#$ she chose this one again. Too lazy to shut down my game to look at my library, I listened again... this is really not my genre, but got the book on sale and well, this story, characters really grew on me.
The writing is smooth and easy to follow along. The story well paced. Finally, the story is entertaining. If I had one complaint it would be that there is nothing to "figure out", everything is handed to the reader upfront and center, but again that's why I said this is not my type of genre, but neither is "HITMAN" and I fell in love with that story. Honestly, I was a little annoyed when the book ended, found myself wanting to continue down Caleb's journey in life.
My point, if this isn't your type of genre, but are looking for something different... give Caleb a try =) Glad I did!

I really liked this book.
This book reminds me a bit of Jack Heath's Hangman and Just One Bite. Loved those so much, especially the first one. This is another bad guy you can't help but root for and like. I want to try more of his books.

Damn good
This was probably my favorite book out of The Bad Games series related books. I’m really hoping we get more from the series.

Killer is good guy
Even though it is a old plot, several killers after one target. I was very enthralled and couldn't quit reading/listening. The whole High Tech thing is a little far fetched but it fit in well with the story. Like I said it kept my interest.

SO GOOD!
I binged this book finishing it in under 12 hours. The reading was really enjoyable. Gary Tiedemann has a nice voice, with pleasant tone, nuances and inflection. The story was easy to follow, the characters interesting and the pace consistent and steady. I could easily visualize the scenes as they were rolled out. I definitely recommend getting on board with Caleb now so you don't miss a thing! You never know where he'll turn up next.

Must read/Listen
Jeff Manpace always dilivers in his writing. Gary Tiedemann always makes his writing come to life. These two are by far my most listened to audible books. Anything with these two working together is gold.
